UK Outlook for Friday 26 Feb 2016 to Sunday 6 Mar 2016:

Cold but bright or sunny conditions should persist for many on Friday and Saturday, with some wintry showers, particularly in the northeast. Though there is a risk that strong winds and outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow, may develop in the west or southwest for a time. The remainder of the weekend and early next week then looks to remain cold with bright or sunny intervals but also some wintry showers, these most prevalent in the east. A cold and predominantly unsettled picture then looks likely through the first week of March, with a risk of some sleet or snow at times. Although less cold at times in the south, temperatures will generally be below normal with widespread overnight frosts. Frosts locally severe in the north.

That looks like the best update yet (for a coldie) from the Metoffice in three years!  Hope it comes off, they have been pretty good this winter IMO.

UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Feb 2016 to Tuesday 8 Mar 2016:

Cold in a northeasterly wind to start the period with bright or sunny intervals but also some wintry showers. These most prevalent in the east and far north, although perhaps becoming confined to the southeast by Monday. From late Monday and through the remainder of the week it will probably turn gradually more unsettled. Bands of rain and hill snow are likely to move southeastwards across the country to affect most parts, with these accompanied by strong winds or gales at times. There will also be clear, showery interludes. Although a little less cold at times under cloud and rain, temperatures will generally be below normal with widespread overnight frosts, these locally severe in the north.

UK Outlook for Monday 29 Feb 2016 to Wednesday 9 Mar 2016:

Cold but largely sunny across much of the country on Monday, with the chance of one or two wintry showers across eastern parts. Later on Monday and through Tuesday it will turn more unsettled from the northwest as outbreaks of rain, preceded by snow, move southeastwards across the country. Thereafter it is likely to remain unsettled with further bands of rain and hill snow likely to move southeastwards across the country to affect most parts, with these accompanied by strong winds or gales at times. There will also be clear, showery interludes. Although a little less cold at times under cloud and rain, temperatures will generally be slightly below normal with occasional overnight frosts, these locally severe in the north.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 1 Mar 2016 to Thursday 10 Mar 2016:

March is expected to start off wet and windy with strong to gale force winds and locally heavy rain spreading across all areas during Tuesday, and possibly starting off as snow on the high ground in the north. By the end of the day clearer, colder weather with wintry showers should have followed into northwestern areas, with these showery conditions spreading to all parts during Wednesday. Thereafter conditions are likely to be generally unsettled with further periods of wind and rain pushing in from the northwest and spells of colder, brighter, showery weather expected in between, with snow likely at times on higher ground. Although a little milder at times under cloud and rain, temperatures will be generally slightly below normal, with overnight frosts likely, occasionally severe in the north.

UK Outlook for Friday 11 Mar 2016 to Friday 25 Mar 2016:

On the whole, rather cold and changeable conditions look likely to dominate through the middle part of March with the airflow coming from a northwesterly direction for much of the time. Spells of wet and windy weather are likely as frontal systems push in from the Atlantic, but there should also be periods of more settled, crisp and bright conditions in between. There will be some local sleet or snow at times, either from showers in the colder spells or due to frontal systems running into cold air, and as usual the snow risk will be highest in northern areas. Temperatures will be generally rather below average for March, with overnight frosts expected on many nights.

On the whole, rather cold and changeable conditions look likely to dominate through the middle and latter part of March, with the airflow coming from a northerly quarter for much of the time. The temperature is expected to average out to be colder than normal for March, with overnight frosts expected on many nights, especially at first.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 2 Mar 2016 to Friday 11 Mar 2016:

On Wednesday cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain will affect southern and eastern England at first. However clearer, colder weather with sunny intervals and scattered heavy, wintry showers already affecting the north and west will spread to all remaining areas during the day. Then Wednesday night is likely to become cold and mainly dry with a frost. Thereafter the latest indications are that conditions will be generally unsettled with further periods of rain and strong winds pushing in from the northwest and spells of colder, brighter, showery weather expected in between, with snow likely at times on higher ground. Although a little milder at times under cloud and rain, temperatures will be generally below normal, with overnight frosts likely on many nights.

UK Outlook for Thursday 3 Mar 2016 to Saturday 12 Mar 2016:

It will be a dry and settled start for most on Thursday, before rain and strengthening winds, spreads in from the west. This rain, with brief hill snow, will probably affect all parts during the day, before clearing later to bring blustery showers, mainly across the north-west. Thereafter the latest indications are that conditions will be changeable with further periods of rain and strong winds pushing in from the north-west. Spells of colder, brighter, showery weather expected in-between with perhaps more settle conditions for a time. Snow likely at times on higher ground. Temperatures are expected to generally be around or below average, although lifting a little above average as frontal systems arrive from the west. These below average temperatures will allow overnight frosts on many occasions.

UK Outlook for Friday 4 Mar 2016 to Sunday 13 Mar 2016:

Cold with blustery, often wintry showers on Friday and brisk northeasterly winds. Sunshine and showers will continue for most over the weekend, with these heavy and wintry in places, particularly in the east where cold, breezy winds are likely. Western areas may see more in the way of drier weather. There is a chance of a period of more persistent wet weather into the following week with strong winds and hill snow. Thereafter, generally changable and cold conditions are expected to continue, with bands of rain and hill snow interspersed with crisp, bright spells. There may be a spell of more settled weather for a time, most likely in the northwest through the latter part of the week.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 15 Mar 2016 to Tuesday 29 Mar 2016:

Settled conditions may prevail at first, however a quick return to more changeable weather seems likely during the middle part of the month. UK Outlook for Saturday 5 Mar 2016 to Monday 14 Mar 2016:

It is expected to remain cold with a mixture of sunshine and showers for most over the weekend, these heavy and wintry in places, particularly in the east where are strong, cold breeze is likely. There is a chance of some more persistent rain and hill snow moving across southwestern parts for a time. As we move into the following week there will be a gradual trend towards drier and more settled conditions as pressure builds from the west, however overnight frosts will become more widespread. Later in the period more unsettled conditions will start to arrive from the northwest, bringing a return to wet and windy weather here, perhaps preceded by some hill snow.

UK Outlook for Sunday 6 Mar 2016 to Tuesday 15 Mar 2016:

Showery rain and sleet with snow on hills will soon clear eastern areas later on Sunday to leave a mainly dry and bright day with easing winds for most places. On Sunday night a band of rain, preceded by hill snow, is expected to move southeastwards across many parts, this clearing to drier and brighter conditions through Monday. The rest of the week should then see a good deal of fine and dry weather with some pleasant spells of sunshine, however nights will often be cold with overnight frosts for many parts. Unsettled conditions may return to affect some northwestern parts, bringing strong winds and outbreaks of rain at times, this possibly extending southeastwards across all parts of the country later in the period.

UK Outlook for Monday 7 Mar 2016 to Wednesday 16 Mar 2016:

Rain, preceded by hill snow, is expected to move southeastwards across western parts through Monday morning. This should then clear to drier and brighter conditions later, but with some wintry showers persisting over higher ground, especially across eastern parts. Tuesday should see a good deal of fine and dry and occasionally sunny weather, but with cold, frosty overnight periods. Unsettled conditions are likely return to some northwestern parts from midweek, bringing strong winds and outbreaks of rain at times, this possibly extending southeastwards across all parts of the country later in the period. Between the bands of rain briefer periods of brighter, drier weather are possible, especially in the south and east, where high pressure could be more dominant. Temperatures generally below average throughout the period.

UK Outlook for Thursday 17 Mar 2016 to Thursday 31 Mar 2016:

Changeable conditions seem most likely as we move into the second half of March. Spells of wet and windy weather are likely as frontal systems push in from the Atlantic, but there should also be periods of more settled and bright, but cold conditions in between. There could be some localised sleet or snow at times, either from showers in the colder spells or due to frontal systems running into cold air, with the snow risk will be highest in northern areas. Temperatures are expected to start below average, but should move back around average towards the end of the period.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 Mar 2016 to Thursday 17 Mar 2016:

Tuesday should start fine, especially in the south but rain and strong winds may then push southeastwards through the day. There is a chance of occasional heavy, blustery showers following the rain, with some of these turning wintry over higher parts. These are most likely in the northwest, along with some gales. Through next week and into the following week, an unsettled pattern is expected to continue, with periods of rain and strong winds interspersed with spells of sunshine and showers. Over higher ground of the northwest these showers could turn wintry, although there should be occasional drier weather, especially in the south and east, where high pressure could become more dominant. Temperatures will tend to fluctuate from around average in the rain, to just below in the showery conditions.

UK Outlook for Friday 18 Mar 2016 to Friday 1 Apr 2016:

Initially is it likely that more changeable conditions will dominate, with rain and strong winds mixed with periods of bright and generally settled, but occasionally showery weather. There are likely to be some localised outbreaks of sleet or snow, either from bands of rain pushing into colder air, or from showers in colder spells from the northwest. The snow risk will the highest in the northern areas, with a risk of gales in the far northwest. Towards the end of March, a more sustained period of settled weather could become established. Temperatures are expected to be around average, with a low chance of temperatures falling just below average towards the end of the month.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 9 Mar 2016 to Friday 18 Mar 2016:

A frontal system moving south-eastwards across the country on Wednesday will bring a period of rain to most parts, with snow on northern hills. Colder and clearer conditions will follow from the northwest with occasional showers, which could turn wintry, especially over hills. It will also become windy at times with a risk of gales or severe gales in the northwest on Thursday. Over the weekend, and for the start of the following week, it is expected to turn milder with the wind coming mainly from the west or southwest. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely, interspersed with some drier and brighter interludes. The heaviest and most persistent rain occurring in the north and west, with some good dry spells probably occurring in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Saturday 19 Mar 2016 to Saturday 2 Apr 2016:

Westerly or south-westerly winds are expected to continue to dominate the weather pattern across the UK at the start of this period. This would continue the run of changeable weather with showers or longer spells of rain, interspersed by some drier and brighter interludes. The heaviest and most persistent rain most likely to occur in the north and west, with some good dry and bright spells likely for the south and east. Later in March and for the start of April, there is uncertainty with the chance of some more prolonged dry spells. Temperatures are likely to be mild at first, but probably oscillating around normal later.

UK Outlook for Thursday 10 Mar 2016 to Saturday 19 Mar 2016:

Thursday will be a wet and windy day across most parts with snow across northern hills. Colder, and brighter conditions will follow from the northwest into the north on Friday with showers, which are likely to turn wintry over high ground, and perhaps to lower levels. Over the weekend, west or south-westerly winds are expected to become established over the country, which would herald a change to milder conditions. It is also expected to become changeable with showers or longer spells of rain, interspersed with some dry and bright interludes. The heaviest and most persistent of the rain occurring in the north and west, with probably some good dry and bright spells for the south and east.

UK Outlook for Friday 11 Mar 2016 to Sunday 20 Mar 2016:

Friday should be mainly fine but chilly across the north. Elsewhere, a bright start, before mild, cloudy and damp weather spreads north-eastwards. On Saturday, most parts can expect mild and cloudy conditions with occasional rain or drizzle, although it is likely to brighten-up across southern and eastern England. The rain probably becoming confined to the far north and northwest by Sunday, with dry and sometimes bright weather becoming more widespread elsewhere. High pressure is expected to dominate next week, giving predominantly dry, mild and settled weather. Some rain may affect the far northwest at times. Temperatures typically above average next week, and feeling 'spring-like' at times, though patchy frost is likely at night. It could become colder, especially eastern areas, and things may become unsettled again by next weekend.

UK Outlook for Saturday 12 Mar 2016 to Monday 21 Mar 2016:

Saturday looks set to be mild, breezy and predominantly cloudy, with occasional drizzle in the west, and more persistent drizzly rain in the northwest. On Sunday, the damp and breezy weather is expected to become mainly confined to the far northwest, whilst generally brightening-up in the south and east. High pressure is then expected to dominate well into next week, to bring largely dry and settled weather, with temperatures probably above normal. Feeling rather warm and spring-like when the sun's out, but a risk of rural frost at night, and a possibility that colder conditions could extend from the east with time. Late next week, there is a tendency for more unsettled conditions to gradually develop, with temperatures returning to near normal.
