UK Outlook for Monday 7 Apr 2014 to Wednesday 16 Apr 2014:

An unsettled start to next week with spells of rain, heavy at times, affecting many areas to begin with. Clearer, but colder, showery and quite windy conditions will then follow from the west during Monday, but perhaps not reach southern and eastern regions until Tuesday. These colder and showery conditions are then expected to persist for two or three days, especially in the north. Showers then likely to be heavy at times and also wintry over hills. Temperatures by both day and night then colder than of late, with frost and icy patches likely overnight. Later next week conditions are likely to turn drier, less windy and more settled again. Nights then probably still chilly with a risk of ground frost, but feeling warmer again by day.

UK Outlook for Thursday 17 Apr 2014 to Thursday 1 May 2014:

Signals for this period are currently more uncertain than usual with no strong signals concerning most likely weather types. As such a mixture of some fine periods interspersed with occasional showery or dull, damp spells is thought likely. By day, temperatures are likely to often be near or above average, so conditions are likely to feel quite pleasant in sunshine. Northwestern parts may, however, be a little colder than average at times. Nights, meanwhile, may be chilly with a touch of ground frost at times.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 Apr 2014 to Thursday 17 Apr 2014:

Rain which is likely to be heavy at times, will affect eastern areas to begin with on Tuesday. However, clearer, but colder, showery and quite windy conditions will then follow from the west during the day, reaching all areas later. These colder and showery conditions are then expected to persist for two or three days, with winds easing in the south. Showers, mainly in the north, are likely to be heavy at times and also wintry over hills. Temperatures by both day and night colder than of late, with frost and icy patches likely overnight. From next weekend conditions are likely to remain mainly dry in the south and east, while the northwest will become more unsettled with the highest risk of occasional rain.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 9 Apr 2014 to Friday 18 Apr 2014:

It should be mostly fine at first with light winds, although the far northwest of the UK may be cloudier and breezier with rain at times. A few showers are possible in the southwest on Thursday too. It will be quite chilly by night with frost possible but daytime temperatures should be near or above average. Indications then show generally more unsettled weather by the end of the week with most places seeing rain at times but there should be some decent dry interludes too, especially in the south and east of the UK. Temperatures may also become nearer to normal, perhaps a little below in the north. Into the following week there are signs of more settled weather returning, particularly across southern areas.

UK Outlook for Thursday 10 Apr 2014 to Saturday 19 Apr 2014:

A band of rain across northern parts of the UK on Thursday is expected to move southwards during Friday. Clearer, showery conditions should follow to the northwest of the UK but more rain is expected here later. Daytime temperatures should be near average, perhaps a little above in the southeast. Indications then show generally more unsettled weather during the weekend with rain moving southeastwards across the UK, heaviest in the northwest. Into the following week, there are signals for southern parts to see more settled and drier weather, with the most unsettled and windiest conditions further north. Temperatures should be mainly near normal, perhaps rather warm at times over central and southern parts, and maybe a little below average in the far north.

UK Outlook for Friday 11 Apr 2014 to Sunday 20 Apr 2014:

Early rain will clear southern areas on Friday to leave a drier day with sunny spells and showers and staying breezy in the north with further rain later. This will move southwards through Saturday, weakening as it does so. Brighter, showery weather will follow to the north with rain clearing all areas on Sunday morning with sunny spells, showers and cooler temperatures following. By Monday, it turns drier and sunnier across southern areas, with rain and stronger winds in the north. Temperatures will be mostly near normal but rather warm in the south, although local frost is still possible. Thereafter, a north/south split in the weather looks likely, with southern areas enjoying the driest conditions with wetter and windier periods in the north.

UK Outlook for Saturday 12 Apr 2014 to Monday 21 Apr 2014:

Outbreaks of rain, locally heavy in the north, will move southwards through Saturday, progressively weakening. Clearer, cooler conditions with some showers will follow from the north as any remaining rain clears all areas during Sunday. Showers are likely to be heaviest, and also wintry over higher ground, in the north. Into the following week, generally fine conditions should develop across southern and many western parts. In the far north and northeast, spells of rain and occasionally strong winds are likely. Temperatures are most likely to be near normal, but rather warm at times in the south. However some local night-time frosts are still possible. Thereafter, there is significant uncertainty but some unsettled spells appear more likely, particularly across the north.

UK Outlook for Sunday 13 Apr 2014 to Tuesday 22 Apr 2014:

High pressure will bring plenty of dry and fine weather for most through Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with variable cloud amounts and sunny spells, but with cold nights bringing patchy frost. However, a band of cloud and rain on Sunday will make limited southward progress before gradually dying out, showers will follow into northern parts. Temperatures around normal to rather warm, particularly in the sunny spells in the southeast. Conditions are likely to deteriorate from the west on Wednesday into Thursday as spells of rain and windier conditions push across the country possibly introducing cooler temperatures with the risk of snow across northern high ground. Thereafter, despite considerable uncertainty, there is an increasing signal for pressure to rebuild from the west or southwest bringing a return to more settled conditions.

UK Outlook for Monday 14 Apr 2014 to Wednesday 23 Apr 2014:

Cloud and occasional rain will clear southeastwards during Monday with brighter, breezier and showery conditions following; heaviest and most frequent showers over northern parts where they will also be wintry over the hills. Many areas will be dry and fine on Tuesday with variable amounts of cloud and sunny spells and a chilly night with patchy frost following. Temperatures near, or just above normal in the southeast, but cooler in the north and west. Conditions are likely to deteriorate from the northwest from late Tuesday or Wednesday as spells of rain and windier conditions push across the country, perhaps also bringing cooler temperatures with wintry showers across northern hills later next week. Thereafter, some uncertainty, but some signs emerging suggesting conditions turning less unsettled the week after next.

UK Outlook for Thursday 24 Apr 2014 to Thursday 8 May 2014:

There remains no strong signals for any particular weather type to dominate during late April and into early May. This leaves conditions more likely than not to be mixed with periods of largely fine and dry weather interspersed with occasional more unsettled spells with showers or outbreaks of rain. This said, there are signs that amounts of rainfall are more likely than not to be largely near or below average. By day, temperatures are likely to often be near or above average, leaving conditions pleasantly warm in sunshine when winds are light. Nights, meanwhile, may be chilly at times with a touch of ground frost then possible.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 15 Apr 2014 to Thursday 24 Apr 2014:

It will be a largely fine day on Tuesday with sunshine for many, although rain and stronger winds may affect northwestern areas. Cloudier conditions will spread across most areas on Wednesday with wetter and windier weather spreading from the northwest, although the southeast may remain dry and bright. After a rather warm start, it will tend to turn colder through Wednesday. It looks likely to remain predominantly unsettled thereafter with showers or longer spells of rain affecting many areas, but with some drier and brighter interludes. The best of the fine spells are likely to be across southeastern areas. It will be windy at times with temperatures near average or rather cold, particularly in the west, with the risk of overnight frost, but possibly warmer further east.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 16 Apr 2014 to Friday 25 Apr 2014:

Turning generally more unsettled as cloud and outbreaks of rain, already affecting some northern and western parts early Wednesday, spread erratically southeastwards across the UK. The rain heavy at times in the north and west, but probably mostly light and patchy towards southeastern England where it may not arrive until Thursday. Remaining predominantly unsettled thereafter with showers or longer spells of rain affecting many areas, but with some drier and brighter interludes. The showers wintry at times over northern hills. The more unsettled conditions will tend to be towards the northwest, with the best of the fine spells in the southeast.
