UK Outlook for Thursday 6 Feb 2014 to Thursday 20 Feb 2014:

Current indications point towards changeable conditions persisting into the middle of February. The most likely scenario during this period would see northwestern parts of the UK affected by the most frequent bouts of unsettled and windy weather. Meanwhile southern and eastern regions should tend to see the longer spells of drier and brighter weather. Some colder periods are possible, particularly between weather systems, but in general temperatures close to the seasonal average are most likely.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 28 Jan 2014 to Thursday 6 Feb 2014:

Unsettled through Tuesday and Wednesday with showers or longer spells of rain, wintry in the northeast where it will feel cold in the strong easterly winds. Elsewhere, temperatures will be near, or just below, normal and it will be windy in the southwest. Risk of overnight fog and icy patches. Less unsettled with sunshine and some showers on Thursday; perhaps wintry in the northeast/east. However, a return to westerly winds is expected from Friday, with further outbreaks of rain, hill snow in northern Britain, and strong winds. There will be some drier and brighter weather too, especially in the south and southeast of the country, and there will be a continuing risk of local overnight frost and fog. Temperatures mostly rather cold, but near normal at times in the south.

UK Outlook for Thursday 30 Jan 2014 to Saturday 8 Feb 2014:

Cold on Thursday, with wintry showers in eastern and central areas easing. Then dry, but frosty overnight with patchy fog and ice. Further rain, perhaps preceded by some temporary snow, follows on Friday with a risk of coastal gales. It then stays colder than normal through the weekend, with a risk of frost and ice at night, although the risk of wintry precipitation will mainly be restricted to the north. Westerly winds then return by next week bringing further outbreaks of rain, and perhaps some hill snow in the north. There will also be some drier and brighter weather too, especially in the south and southeast of the UK, with the continuing risk of overnight frost and local fog patches. Temperatures are then expected to gradually recover to around normal.
