UK Outlook for Friday 8 Nov 2013 to Friday 22 Nov 2013:

The mostly unsettled conditions are expected to continue for much of this period, with a trend for rainfall amounts to be slightly above average in the north and west but nearer to average in the south and east. Temperatures during this period are more likely to be near, or perhaps, a little above average throughout, leading to a lower risk of frost than can usually be expected at this time of year. There are some indications that towards the end of the period, slightly drier and more settled conditions further south would bring an increased risk of overnight frost, with fog which may be slow to clear at times.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 30 Oct 2013 to Friday 8 Nov 2013:

It will be a dry and rather cold start to Wednesday, with a touch of frost across many eastern and southern parts as the winds ease. However, rain and strengthening winds will push in from the west through the day. This will herald the change back to unsettled conditions which will prevail thereafter. Showers or longer outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, will affect many areas, especially the north and west, with strong winds and gales also likely in the west at times. The best drier and brighter interludes will be across southeastern parts, but this may allow occasional fog overnight. After a rather cold start to the period, the milder conditions are likely to return to most areas, although northwestern areas will see some incursions of colder air at times.

UK Outlook for Thursday 31 Oct 2013 to Saturday 9 Nov 2013:

The end of the week looks unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain, and generally windy. There is a threat of gales inland for some, and potentially a very wet and windy spell during the weekend. Into next week, it is likely to remain unsettled and often windy, with the risk of gales in the north and west. Also some heavy rain likely at times and a risk of showers over the northern mountains turning wintry. Day time temperatures look set to remain around or just above average for the time of year throughout this whole period, however this will be tempered by the wind and unsettled feel to the weather. Remaining largely mild by night with a lower incidence of frost than usual for the time of year.

UK Outlook for Saturday 2 Nov 2013 to Monday 11 Nov 2013:

Stay unsettled this weekend with showers or longer spells of rain sweeping northwards, with heavy and squally showers following. Remaining windy with a risk of gales and a chance of severe gales on some coasts. Unsettled and often windy weather persisting thereafter, with the risk of gales continuing in the north and west. Showers over Scottish mountains may then turn wintry at times. Perhaps also turning a little colder than of late early next week. Otherwise, temperatures generally staying around average for early November. This will, of course, be tempered by the wind and unsettled feel to the weather and therefore there is expected to be less frost than is normal for early November. Later in the period, there are indications that southern or southeastern areas may turn less unsettled.

These conditions will last into Friday with some heavy showers to the northwest of the country, but more persistent rain is possible across western areas later. It is likely to stay largely unsettled thereafter with showers or longer spells of rain, locally heavy, particularly in the northwest, where it will also be windy at times. Until we see the MetO pick up a strong enough signal for cold my feet remain firmly planted on terra nova, the updates have been pretty consistent of late.

Unsettled, windy and showery for most of the UK on Friday with some heavy showers, especially in the northwest where they could be wintry over high ground. UK Outlook for Saturday 9 Nov 2013 to Monday 18 Nov 2013:

Remaining unsettled and breezy on Saturday with further blustery showers, and sunny spells. These showers will be heaviest and most frequent in the north and west, and locally wintry over the high ground of the north. However a spell of persistent rain and strong winds could also move across the south. Staying largely unsettled and breezy thereafter with showers or longer spells of rain, locally heavy, particularly in the northwest. It will also be windy at times here and feeling cold, with showers again possibly wintry over hills. The best of brighter and drier spells will be in south and east however, where it will remain generally mild by day for November. However when winds ease overnight, it could become quite chilly here leading to frost and fog patches.
