UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 Oct 2013 to Tuesday 22 Oct 2013:

After a relatively unsettled start to October, most places can expect to see some more in the way of settled periods of weather through the month. These most frequent in southern and eastern UK. Further north and west there is a greater risk of seeing more changeable weather with showers or more prolonged rain at times. Temperatures should remain close to average but it may be warm at times in the south and east.

UK Outlook for Sunday 29 Sep 2013 to Tuesday 8 Oct 2013:

Rather unsettled conditions are likely on Sunday with showers or some longer spells of rain, these more likely in the east and south, with driest weather probably in the northwest. The unsettled regime looks likely to continue through the rest of the period giving showers or longer spells of rain interspersed by drier, brighter interludes. The focus of the heaviest rain is likely to be over western districts. It will also be windy at times, particularly in the west where gales may develop at times. There should be some brighter spells, particularly across eastern areas. However, temperatures are likely to be above normal and it may feel warm at times, especially in central and southern areas. Through the following weekend it may turn somewhat colder generally, especially for northwestern areas.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 9 Oct 2013 to Wednesday 23 Oct 2013:

However, going though mid October into the second half of the month, things are increasingly uncertain. At present it looks as if most places should have near normal temperatures and rainfall, with somewhat drier and warmer conditions than average weakly favoured for southern parts.

UK Outlook for Saturday 12 Oct 2013 to Saturday 26 Oct 2013:

Increasingly unsettled conditions expected to become established during the first full week of October are thought more likely than not to persist into mid-October. There are then no strong indications as to most likely weather type during the second half of October. As such, most regions should have near normal temperatures and rainfall, whilst over southern parts of the UK conditions may be slightly drier and slightly warmer than average.

The more settled theme will continue into the start of the new working week. Many areas will be dry, with light winds and sometimes large amounts of cloud, but with some sunny spells after any morning fog clears. Northwestern parts are likely to be unsettled and breezy with rain at times, some of which may well be heavy. Daytime temperatures will be close to or just above average, and rather warm in places. However, nights will tend be colder than of late. Through the rest of the week, the unsettled weather in the northwest may push gradually southeastwards across the UK, though the far southeast may remain largely dry and fine. The following week will probably be largely unsettled, particularly in the northwest, with most places having some rain.

Well that took some writing for the past 3 days, talk about sitting on the fence

Still can't get my head round why the 6-15 dayer doesn't really reflect that we are highly likely to have a whopping great Euro high sitting atop us for the duration.

I've known them update it at other times as well like they did with this one that was first issued on Monday and they've kept it since

UK Outlook for Friday 18 Oct 2013 to Friday 1 Nov 2013:

The most likely scenario for the weather during the rest of October is for unsettled conditions in northern and western parts of the UK to spread across many remaining parts of the country. However, the southeast of England should continue to see the best of any dry and bright weather. Temperatures should be close to average throughout.
