UK Outlook for Thursday 5 Sep 2013 to Saturday 14 Sep 2013:

A northwest-southeast split on Thursday, with unsettled conditions in the north, with cloud and rain possibly spreading as far south as the Midlands and Wales at times. Breezy with strong winds in the north and a risk of gales. Further southeast generally drier, with variable cloud amounts, sunny spells and with temperatures warm or very warm. However, there is an increasing likelihood of the more unsettled conditions spreading to the rest of the UK from Friday. Expect showers or spells of more persistent, locally heavy rain, interspersed with some drier and brighter interludes with the north and west probably the wettest. Windy with risk of gales in the northwest at times. Temperatures on the cool side of normal in northwest, near-average elsewhere, perhaps slightly above normal in the southeast.

UK Outlook for Sunday 8 Sep 2013 to Tuesday 17 Sep 2013:

Rather unsettled on Sunday with showers or more persistent rain. The rain may be heavy at times and is most likely towards the northeast and also the southwest, in between there may be some brighter spells. Into next week and it will stay generally unsettled. Central, southern and eastern parts are probably most prone to further rain during the first part of the week with the focus moving more towards the north and west later. Temperatures generally around normal, perhaps warm in any sunshine, but feeling cooler in the wetter spells. Later in the period a northwest/southeast split seems likely, with the more unsettled conditions in the northwest. Southern and southeastern parts should generally see lengthier periods of dry, settled and warmer weather, however some showers are still possible here.

UK Outlook for Monday 9 Sep 2013 to Wednesday 18 Sep 2013:

Unsettled weather will dominate on Monday and Tuesday with showers for many and the risk of more persistent rain across southern areas, heavy in places. Some brighter spells are likely, particularly in the north and west. Temperatures will be near normal, but feeling cool in wetter areas. Unsettled weather will dominate on Tuesday with showers across many areas. The best of the brighter weather is likely to be in the south and east although many areas will see bright or sunny spells. UK Outlook for Wednesday 11 Sep 2013 to Friday 20 Sep 2013:

Many places should have a dry but cloudy day on Wednesday, although there may be some sunny spells. However, there is a chance of outbreaks of rain in some eastern areas, and northwestern areas have an increasing risk of rain later in the day. Mostly unsettled weather with showers or longer spells of rain is likely for much of the rest of the period, although there are indications that later rain will tend to become more confined to northern and northwestern parts with more settled, dry weather in the south and southeast. Temperatures will probably be cooler than average at first in most areas, but should recover to around average with a chance of some warm weather at times, particularly in the southeast.

UK Outlook for Saturday 21 Sep 2013 to Saturday 5 Oct 2013:

There are indications of rather more settled weather across many parts of the United Kingdom towards the end of September. As a result, it is likely to be drier than average in most areas. On the whole, daytime temperatures are likely to be around average, and perhaps a little above at times. Night-time temperatures should be close or slightly below average for the time of year. Any clear nights could allow mist and fog to develop in places. The weather may start to turn more unsettled during the first few days of October, particularly in the north, so there may be a greater chance of rain affecting some parts of the UK.

UK Outlook for Thursday 12 Sep 2013 to Saturday 21 Sep 2013:

Largely dry with sunny periods in the south at first, however cloud and outbreaks of rain over the northwest should spread southeastwards through Thursday and Friday. Behind the rain showers are likely to develop in the north, where the winds should strengthen as well. Temperatures generally around normal but feeling cooler in the rain. Through the weekend it is likely to remain rather unsettled in the north, with strengthening winds and showers or more persistent rain at times. The driest conditions are expected to be over southern areas, where, with lighter winds there is a risk of some chilly nights with some patchy mist or fog. Later in the period, perhaps more of the country will enjoy more settled conditions and probably be warmer as well, especially in the southeast.

UK Outlook for Saturday 14 Sep 2013 to Monday 23 Sep 2013:

Southern parts cloudy with rain at times Saturday, elsewhere brighter to begin with this weekend. Conditions are then expected to turn cooler, windier and more unsettled on Sunday, most regions cloudy with rain for a time before clearer conditions with showers follow from the northwest. The first half of next week has an autumnal look, conditions changeable, often windy and colder than this week as cloudier periods with rain are interspersed with spells of brighter weather with showers. Later next week and onwards for the rest of the forecast period looks likely to become a little less cold with temperatures returning to values nearer average for mid-September. Probably staying changeable though, with some fine weather but also some rain at times, then most likely wettest towards the north and west.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 24 Sep 2013 to Tuesday 8 Oct 2013:

There remain signs of a rather more settled weather type across many parts of the United Kingdom during the last week or so of September, conditions then more likely than not to be drier than average. A more settled weather type should also allow daytime temperatures to be close to or a little above the late September average and as such conditions will feel quite pleasant in sunshine. Scope then for conditions to also be quite chilly by night with a risk of frost in rural areas and an increased risk of mist and fog both overnight and during morning rush hours. Probably still quite settled at the start of October, but conditions may then start to turn more unsettled during the first week of October, particularly in the north.

UK Outlook for Sunday 15 Sep 2013 to Tuesday 24 Sep 2013:

Probably a dry start in the southeast on Sunday, but rain and strong winds across northwestern areas will soon push southeastwards through the day with much cooler air and blustery showers following, some heavy with local hail and thunder. The first half of next week has an autumnal and rather changeable look to it as cloudier periods with rain are interspersed by brighter periods with showers. Remaining windy, with the risk of severe gales in the north at first. Later next week and onwards for the rest of the forecast period looks like becoming a little less cold with temperatures returning to values nearer average for mid-September. Probably staying changeable though, with some fine weather but also some rain at times, this most likely wettest towards the north and west.

UK Outlook for Monday 16 Sep 2013 to Wednesday 25 Sep 2013:

Early rain across southeastern parts will soon clear on Monday to leave sunshine and showers across the UK. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent across northern and western parts and winds will be strong. Staying showery on Tuesday although winds should ease slightly. Temperatures will be just below average, feeling particularly cool in any showers. The unsettled regime will continue for most through the remainder of the working week, but southern areas should enjoy drier and brighter weather later. It will be chilly at first with the risk of overnight frost in places, but temperatures should recover to near normal later. The remainder of the period should turn less unsettled with more prolonged drier and brighter periods but there will still be wetter spells, particularly in the northwest.
