UK Outlook for Sunday 11 Aug 2013 to Tuesday 20 Aug 2013:

The unsettled theme to weather conditions developing this weekend is expected to persist through next week. The early part of the week is set to be rather showery and breezy, especially in the north and west where the heaviest and most frequent showers are expected. A spell of cloudier weather with more persistent rain looks increasingly likely affect most regions mid-week before brighter but showery conditions return later in the week. Like the rest of this week, temperatures next week will often be close to average though perhaps briefly warmer in the southeast mid-week. Looking ahead to the weekend after next, changeable weather conditions with showers or longer spells of rain interspersed with sunny spells are likely, temperatures then most likely close to average for the time of year.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 21 Aug 2013 to Wednesday 4 Sep 2013:

The broadly unsettled weather type expected across the UK during mid-August is likely to continue into the early part of this forecast period. Thereafter, during late August and early September, no strong signals currently exist as to most likely dominant weather types. As such, most regions can expect to have fine and at least pleasantly warm weather at times, southern and eastern UK likely to see the most prolonged fine spells. Equally some bouts of unsettled weather are also expected, perhaps most likely to the north and west.

UK Outlook for Monday 12 Aug 2013 to Wednesday 21 Aug 2013:

Staying generally unsettled with sunshine and showers at first next week, particularly across northwestern parts, where the heaviest and most frequent showers are expected. As the week progresses a spell of cloudier weather and more persistent rain is likely to spread across the UK from the west and winds will strengthen. Then remaining unsettled for most towards the end of the week, with showers or more persistent spells of rain. The best of any drier and brighter spells are most likely towards the south and east. Temperatures are likely to remain close to average, but cooler in the wind and rain. Thereafter, changeable weather conditions are most likely, with showers or longer spells of rain interspersed with dry, sunny spells and temperatures generally close to average for August.

UK Outlook for Saturday 17 Aug 2013 to Monday 26 Aug 2013:

Conditions likely to start off fine and largely dry on Saturday before quickly going downhill as cloud, outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, and windier conditions spread across Britain. These unsettled conditions then persist through the rest of weekend into the early part of next week when a mixture of broken cloud, bright or sunny spells and showers is expected, some of these showers heavy and locally thundery. There then remain signs of a shift towards much more settled conditions developing from roughly the middle of next week, especially across eastern, central and southern parts. Daytime temperatures this weekend into early next week close to or just below average, and feeling cool in wind, rain and showers. Conditions then becoming warmer as more settled weather develops.

The more settled weather type expected to develop across at least parts of the UK during the course of next week are thought likely to continue into the early part of this forecast period, most likely leaving many regions with spells of fine and pleasantly warm weather. As such some spells of fine weather are likely then, but equally relative to the early part of this forecast period bouts of unsettled weather may also become more likely during early September.

UK Outlook for Sunday 18 Aug 2013 to Tuesday 27 Aug 2013:

An unsettled start to the period with blustery showers and some longer spells of rain, possibly heavy and persistent towards the north and west of the UK. Some bright or sunny spells are likely between the showers, these probably more prolonged in the south and southwest on Monday. A gradual change to more settled weather is expected thereafter, although further spells of breezy and wet weather may continue across northern Britain. Southern and eastern areas show signs of becoming warmer and more settled around the middle of next week, with temperatures otherwise near or a little below average. Towards the end of the month, these generally settled conditions may well extend across much of the UK and temperatures should become warm, locally very warm across parts of England and Wales.

UK Outlook for Monday 19 Aug 2013 to Wednesday 28 Aug 2013:

Sunshine and showers are expected at first, with showers most likely in northern and western Britain, and the south and east staying largely fine and dry. The rest of the week should then have plenty of dry and settled weather across many southern parts of the UK. However, some wetter weather may continue at times across the north and west, and perhaps some central areas around the middle of the week. The generally settled conditions in the south then show signs of extending further north across much of the UK during the latter part of August. Temperatures should respond and rise above average in many areas, with some very warm conditions developing across parts of southern Britain.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 20 Aug 2013 to Thursday 29 Aug 2013:

Many parts will enjoy some sunny spells through Tuesday and Wednesday, the best of which will be across southern and eastern areas where it should turn warm at times. There will, however, be some showers, mainly in the north and west with the risk of more persistent rain and stronger winds for a time. From Thursday until Saturday, most parts will continue to see fine, dry and sunny weather with warm temperatures in places. Parts of the west and northwest may be more unsettled with rain at times, and there is also a low risk of these conditions spreading as far south as the Midlands. Thereafter, dry, warm and sunny weather may continue in the south and east, although more unsettled weather is likely to affect the north and west.

Many parts will enjoy light winds and sunny spells through Wednesday and Thursday. The best of any sunshine is likely to be across the south and east, where it may turn warm or locally very warm. Further towards the north and west, there is a risk of showers that may merge into a longer spell of persistent rain, with cooler temperatures here as a result. Thereafter, many parts should enjoy further fine and dry weather with spells of sunshine. Once again, some northern and western parts may be more unsettled at times with a risk that these conditions become slightly more widespread later. Whilst daytime temperatures will largely be near normal, it will become warm at times during sunnier periods and locally very warm across southeastern areas.

UK Outlook for Thursday 22 Aug 2013 to Saturday 31 Aug 2013:

Thursday should be largely dry with sunny periods in the south and east, whilst northern and western parts of the UK will see showers and longer outbreaks of rain, with only limited brightness. This overall pattern is likely to continue for much of the rest of August, with the north and west seeing some dry and bright periods, but with showers and longer spells of rain at times. Southern and particularly southeastern parts will see the best of the dry, sunny and warm weather, although there is a chance it will turn more unsettled for a time over the Bank Holiday weekend. Daytime temperatures should be near average for most areas, but it may become very warm in the southeast at times.

UK Outlook for Friday 23 Aug 2013 to Sunday 1 Sep 2013:

Some bright or sunny spells on Friday, though cloudier conditions may affect western parts, perhaps bringing some showery rain. There are signs that these outbreaks of showery rain may then become more widespread during the Bank Holiday Weekend. However, there is some uncertainty regarding the areas which will be affected by rain, and most parts should also see some dry, bright weather at times during the Bank Holiday weekend. After this, there are signs that showers and rain will mainly affect northern and western areas with the southern and eastern parts tending to be drier brighter. Warm and humid in spite of the risk of showery rain during the Bank Holiday Weekend, thereafter temperatures are expected to return to values near or a little above average.
