UK Outlook for Friday 6 Apr 2012 to Sunday 15 Apr 2012:

Cloudy, with outbreaks of rain at first, these heaviest and most persistent in northern and eastern parts of the UK. Parts of the south and southwest may remain dry. It should turn clearer and brighter for a time giving a chilly start to Saturday, with the risk of a frost, although rain is expected to return to northern parts later. Generally unsettled thereafter with spells of persistent and occasionally heavy rain, particularly the north, interspersed with cold, showery spells. The best of any drier, brighter weather likely in the south at first. Windy at times, particularly in the northwest, with a risk of gales. Daytime temperatures will be largely around average during this period, but below normal by night at times, with the risk of frost in clearer spells.

This is getting silly now 1 updated a day is enough regardless of how many times the met office update these outlooks 3 updates today (1 by my-self) have all been the same.

In future 1 update per day (the lunch time one) would be enough unless there are big changes

UK Outlook for Monday 9 Apr 2012 to Wednesday 18 Apr 2012:

Generally unsettled during the first week, with showers or occasionally longer spells of rain. The showers will probably be at their heaviest and most frequent during the afternoons, with some containing hail and thunder, and occasionally falling as snow over the Scottish hills. Despite this, there will also be some sunny spells in-between the showers. Rather windy to start, with a low risk of gales in the far north, although winds should generally ease through the week. Remaining unsettled into the middle of April, with spells of persistent and occasionally heavy rain likely, particularly in the north. However, even southern areas should finally see some useful amounts of rain. Temperatures will be largely around average during this period, with a small risk of overnight frosts in any clearer spells overnight.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 10 Apr 2012 to Thursday 19 Apr 2012:

Conditions look set to remain generally unsettled with a mixture of broken cloud, bright or sunny spells and showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder whilst over high ground in the north, showers will fall as sleet or snow. In some parts, showers may well merge into longer spells of rain at times. Towards the middle of the month, conditions may start to become a little more settled across some northern parts of Britain, with more in the way of sunshine and fewer showers. On the breezy side at times, perhaps more especially to the north and west. Temperatures largely near normal by day and often quite chilly by night when fog patches and frost is likely in some sheltered inland areas.

Remaining generally unsettled, with a mixture of bright or sunny spells and showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with hail and thunder, and, at times, merge into longer spells of rain. Meanwhile, over high ground there will be some sleet and snow showers, especially in the North where showers may turn wintry to some lower levels at times later next week. From mid-month, conditions may start to become a little more settled across some northern parts of Britain, with more in the way of sunshine and fewer showers. It will be breezy at times, perhaps more especially to the north and west at first. Temperatures largely near or just below average by day, nights often quite chilly with fog patches and frost likely in some sheltered inland areas.

UK Outlook for Thursday 12 Apr 2012 to Saturday 21 Apr 2012:

Generally unsettled with sunny spells and occasionally heavy showers. These showers occasionally wintry over hills and bringing a risk of hail and thunder. The showers will merge to longer spells of rain in some areas, more so in the northwest at first and later the east or northeast by mid-month. By this time, showers in the northwest should become lighter and less frequent, although still wintry with snow at times, perhaps to low-levels in the far north. The focus of brisk winds will also shift eastward with the rain across northern UK, whilst they remain lighter further south. Daytime temperatures will be mostly slightly below normal, with occasional night-time frosts possible under clearer skies. Remaining generally unsettled into the second half of April, although perhaps with lengthier drier periods.

UK Outlook for Friday 13 Apr 2012 to Sunday 22 Apr 2012:

Continuing unsettled at the start of this period, with showers for most areas, perhaps heavy and thundery at first, merging into longer spells of rain at times. Some hill snow is likely, chiefly in northern UK, with snow possible to lower levels in the far north at times. Early next week, the focus of the showers will shift to northern and eastern parts, with more settled weather spreading from the west for a time. Then, towards the second weekend, the most likely scenario is for generally unsettled conditions to return to most parts with periods of rain or showers moving west to east across the country. Often rather breezy, with temperatures mainly a little below normal for mid-April, meaning that occasional overnight frosts are still possible in sheltered rural areas.

UK Outlook for Sunday 15 Apr 2012 to Tuesday 24 Apr 2012:

Sunday will see sunshine and showers affecting the UK, with the showers most frequent over eastern parts, and with a chance of some sleet or snow over high ground, mainly in the north. Western areas will probably only see isolated showers and more in the way of sunshine. By Monday, showers are likely to be restricted to the east with generally dry conditions elsewhere. It is likely to become unsettled again during next week though, with bands of rain or showers moving across the country and becoming windy at times. UK Outlook for Monday 16 Apr 2012 to Wednesday 25 Apr 2012:

Most parts will be largely dry and bright on Monday, although further light showers may continue across eastern counties. Cloud will thicken across the west later in the day to bring wet and windy weather across all areas through Tuesday, possibly preceded by snow for a time on northern hills. The unsettled weather is likely to continue through the remainder of the period with further bands of rain pushing crossing the country although these will be interspersed with some brighter but showery spells. Further snow is possible across northern hills, especially early in the period. Temperatures are likely to be mainly below normal for mid-April at first, meaning that overnight frosts are possible but temperatures possibly returning to nearer average later.

The rest of the week continues the unsettled theme with showers and occasional longer periods of rain, sometimes more prolonged in the south. In the north there may be some further hill snow at times. Still windy, but easing with time, and temperatures close to average for the time of year. The unsettled weather is expected to last into the second week, with average temperatures and periods of rain or showers in most parts.

UK Outlook for Friday 20 Apr 2012 to Sunday 29 Apr 2012:

Generally unsettled with a mixture of clear or sunny spells and showers or longer spells of rain during the coming weekend and onwards into next week. Some of these showers will be heavy with occasional hail and thunder, whilst over high ground in Scotland, Wales and northern England showers are likely to be wintry at times, especially over northern Scotland. This unsettled pattern should then see out the rest of April, with further sunny intervals, showers and longer spells of rain. UK Outlook for Saturday 21 Apr 2012 to Monday 30 Apr 2012:

Generally unsettled and often quite windy conditions are expected to predominate throughout the period. Showers or longer spells of rain will affect all areas at times, with some drier and brighter interludes likely too. The focus of the heaviest or more persistent rain is most likely to be southern and western parts of the UK, especially during the first weekend, although this does not preclude heavier outbreaks elsewhere. Some of the showers are also likely to be wintry in nature, particularly over the Scottish mountains, but also possibly over other northern high ground at times. For the period as a whole, temperatures will be close to or just below average, giving a risk of overnight frost, but perhaps rising above average towards the end of the month.
