Met office have had weather warnings out for nearly 24 hrs for the winds on the west coast.

even the met office website reports gusts of over 64 mph in Stornoway itself surly that falls into your criteria?

and 70 mph in the south uist.

It's an ABSOLUTE JOKE that no warning (on here) has been issued for Hebrides.

Let's have a look at todays earlier Hebrides shipping forecast:

Southwesterly gale force 8 imminent increasing violent storm force 11 soon

Of course, the usual culprits will come out saying "it's only Hebrides, where population is low". That is bull. It has a population, and as we all know in 2005, five people were killed due to adverse weather.

The least we should have seen was an advisory.

I hate the acryonm NIMBY - but that is exactly what has happened here. Nobody cares :D
