I nipped out to try doing long exposures of the space station going over - not sure what happened, I missed it behind cloud near horizon or got the time wrong.

Anyway did a couple of test exposures before and was quite pleased with this one.

It's surprising how many more stars are caught by long exposure compared to what you can see with naked eye considering it is hardly dark yet.

30 second exposure, ISO 100 F4 Canon 300D with sigma 18-200mm at 18mm

nice clear and crisp photo there 4wd, amazing how light the sky is still. shame about missing the space station, would like to see a photo of that in the sky. London is usually way to light to see much other than the brightest stars

Just watched the ISS, led by the Progress 38 spacecraft go directly overhead (West Sussex coast). The ISS was brighter than Venus at a magnitude of about -4, so it wouldhave been easily visible, even in London. According to Heavens Above, the next pass starts in the west at Midnight 30:17, blinking out as it hits the earths shadow just to the WSW of me. Here's tomorrows today's passes.
