Mostly cloudy with bright spells. Feeling pretty cool at just 15.0C along with a moderate northerly wind.

Minimum temperature last night was 10.9C under overcast skies, so not too far from average.

Another lovely sunny morning today although some patchy cirrus then cumulus around which was different to the last 2 days. Did reach a high of 22.0C here before a sea breeze decided to reach us and dropped the temp right back to 15.8C just after 2pm combined with more cloud. Rose to 17C during the afternoon but is now 15C and cloudy.

Funny how Chivenor on the north Devon coast can have a proper sea breeze of 12mph at 4pm and 15mph at 5pm and the temperature at those times is 21C and 20C, while I have just a light sea breeze a few miles inland against the main air flow and the temp is 15.0C...

Max today: 22.0C at 11:40

Min today: 7.4C at 04:25

Clear spells to thin fog last night. Fog cleared by 0830, then a rather cloudy day with some bright intervals.

Fairly warm morning, cooler from early afternoon, with a moderate NNW wind.

Min: 8.4c @ 0230

Max: 20.6c @ 1230

Dry again today.

Currently: Dull and cool.

Temp: 15.0c

RH: 81%

Pressure: 1020mbar, steady.

Perishing day here, only 13C after a "high" of 15.5, november temperatures.

Very cloudy and cold with an insipid drizzle, physically hurts to go outside.

Just a typical day in the Peak District then. Your not related to that other Richard from another forum from Aberdeen are you?

Lovely bright sunny mild day here with superb visibility but fresh very cool north wind now, currently 8c and overcast. Just about fallen to 0c on the summit of Cairngorm just now so their midsummer skiing seems assured this weekend. Just how I remember Junes in the sixties

In spite of the cloud it is still daylight outside and the pigeons will be feeding on the seedling turnips( only growing slowly due to many recent cool nights) at 3.30 am in the morning and will need to chased off.

Heard a story the other day from someone doing solar research that the sun may remain quiet for the rest of the next 11 year cycle so maybe north winds will occur more frequently in the future as in the last 6 months

13.2c drizzly and calm and dull. More exciting than that England game.

Admittedly, I could say the same about Norwich's weather today (dull, damp, odd bit of drizzle, 14C max). There was about two minutes of sunshine at 6pm and some semi-interesting altocumulus formations around sunset which were enough to raise today's weather above the England game for entertainment value.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
