Glad you hot-footed ya way onto the Colorado storm Paul and Ian, was incredible and still producing by all accounts, even on days when tornado chances are low, incredible tornadoes will and do form.... Happy that it just missed the town of Campo although reports are coming in that it had hit at least one house, hope theres no casualties, it was moving along slow enough to make an escape..

latest Meso discussion from SPC

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0756

NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK

0552 PM CDT MON MAY 31 2010

AREAS AFFECTED...PORTIONS TX PANHANDLE...TX SOUTH-PLAINS

REGION...SERN CO...SWRN KS...NERN NM...OK PANHANDLE.

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 238...

VALID 312252Z - 010045Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 238

CONTINUES.

SOLITARY SUPERCELL OVER BACA COUNTY SHOULD CONTINUE TO MOVE

GENERALLY SWD-SSEWD DURING REMAINDER OF ITS MATURE STAGE...WITH

ADDITIONAL LARGE/DAMAGING HAIL LIKELY AND ANOTHER TORNADO OR TWO

POSSIBLE. SFC MESOANALYSIS SHOWS WAVY DRYLINE BULGING WWD ACROSS

SERN CO...BETWEEN LAA-LHX...SWD ACROSS RTN MESA AREA TO NEAR

CAO...THEN SEWD ACROSS NWRN TX PANHANDLE TO NEAR LBB. LITTLE

ADDITIONAL MOVEMENT OF THIS BOUNDARY IS EXPECTED AWAY FROM

CONVECTIVE INFLUENCES FOR ANOTHER FEW HOURS. E OF

DRYLINE...PRONOUNCED SFC MOISTURE AXIS EXTENDS FROM NWRN OK WNWWD

ACROSS NRN TX PANHANDLE THEN NWWD TOWARD LAA...BECOMING JUXTAPOSED

WITH NEARLY N-S SFC CONFLUENCE LINE AND AREA OF MAXIMIZED

BOUNDARY-LAYER LAPSE RATES INVOF BACA COUNTY SUPERCELL. DEVELOPMENT

FARTHER W OVER HIGHER TERRAIN NEAR RTN AND TAD MAY MOVE EWD FAR

ENOUGH TO ACCESS RELATIVELY RICH MOISTURE INVOF DRYLINE AS WELL.

ALTHOUGH MIDLEVEL WINDS ARE RELATIVELY WEAK...STRONGER UPPER WINDS

-- I.E. 55-60 KT ANVIL-LEVEL FLOW -- AND FAVORABLE LOW-LEVEL

STORM-RELATIVE INFLOW MAY SUSTAIN SUPERCELL POTENTIAL OVER THIS

AREA...BOTH WITH EXISTING CONVECTION AND WITH BUILDING TOWERS

EVIDENT ON VIS IMAGERY OVER PORTIONS CIMARRON/TEXAS COUNTIES OK.

EVENTUAL UPSCALE AGGREGATION OF THIS CONVECTION INTO MCS REMAINS

POSSIBLE THROUGH EVENING HOURS.

FARTHER S...WIDELY SCATTERED TO SCATTERED TSTMS ARE INCREASING IN

COVERAGE/INTENSITY ON BOTH SIDES OF DRYLINE...OVER SWRN PANHANDLE

AND NWRN PORTIONS TX SOUTH-PLAINS REGION. POTENTIAL FOR SVR

HAIL/WIND MAY INCREASE AS THIS ACTIVITY MOVES INTO MORE MOIST AIR

MASS AND DEEPER BOUNDARY LAYER NEAR CAPROCK...AND DAMAGING GUSTS MAY

DEVELOP IN INTERIM AS TSTMS LAUNCH DOWNDRAFTS INTO WELL-MIXED

SUBCLOUD LAYER. WHILE AMBIENT SHEAR PROFILES THIS FAR S ARE NOT

PARTICULARLY FAVORABLE FOR SUSTAINED/SUPERCELLULAR

ORGANIZATION...THIS ACTIVITY MAY BECOME BETTER-ORGANIZED IN FORM OF

COLLECTIVE COLD POOL AND FORWARD-PROPAGATIONAL WIND RISK.

ADDITIONAL PORTIONS TX PANHANDLE MAY REQUIRE SVR TSTM WW...WHETHER

AS SPATIAL EXTENSION OF WW 238 OR NEW WW.

Amazing, Incredible, Baffling, Structure Awesome as usual this year, Classic Supercell with 3 different Tornadoes, Stovepipe and 2 Cone Tornadoes, nearly had a wedge about 3 miles from the car, then the Discoteque Lightning.

I am getting to like Baca County in Colorado. Pretty sure the first 2 we saw were just inside Colorado and the third was in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Tour 4 are up and running and I now have a Seasons Best 17 Tornadoes!
