found this its quite good you can zoom right into it and also if you click the + sign you can add layers like tropospheric sulphur and other things

copied this from an article looks like there were two other eruptions today and even a tsunami warning was issued so looks like its rumbling on we will just have to wait and see how long it lasts or if it will get any worse.

sounds quite hellish for people in surrounding areas

Jakarta -existing community in Wera, Bima, Manggarai in Manggarai Barat (NTB) and East Sumba in NTT requires a lot of masks. This area became the most-affected areas severe activity of increasing Sangeangapi. Since dawn to morning has happened 2 times a sizable eruption, i.e. 01: 30 p.m., and at 10: 30. People in Wera even had time to evacuate into the hills because of the issue of tsunami.135 Persons being residents of gardening on the island of Sangeang has successfully evacuated to the Sangeang landline. No casualties and refugees. 7.328 people (1.748 KK) of 4 village is 8 km from the Mountain Village of Sangeangapi, Oitoi, Tadewa Sangeang, Langgasolo and exposed to rain ash badly enough. 2 the airport in Bima, NTB Airport Tambolaka Airport and temporarily closed. Another area of rain affected Bima Kab abu was Wera, Sape, Bima and the town of Ambalawi.BPBD Bima and BPBD NTB has distributed masks to society 15.200 Bima. Supplies of masks in pharmacies have reportedly been discharged so needed outside help. "Supplies of masks in stores and pharmacies are also limited. BPBD East Sumba does not have funds ready to use so that it has submitted a request for assistance to it, "says the head of BNPB Data Center information and Publicist BNPB, Purwo Nugroho Dwiyatno (Captain) in the caption, Saturday (5/31/2014).The community was asked to reduce its activities outside of the home. BPBD, TNI, Polri, PMI, Tagana, SEGWAY and Orari has done handling the emergency.

Sangeang Api volcano (Sunda Islands, Indonesia): eruption continues, ash spreads to Australia

Aerosols from yesterday's eruption spreading towards Australia (ESA)

Eruptions continue at the volcano after yesterday's major explosion. Dense ash plumes rising from the summit crater can be seen on this morning's satellite images, and a MODIS hot spot is visible on the latest satellite data, suggesting fresh magma continues to arrive at the volcano's summit crater.
In the meanwhile, the ash and SO2 plume has drifted and spread over more than 3000 km to the E and SE, covering a vast area that includes parts of northern and eastern Australia. All flights from Darwin airport have been cancelled because of the hazardous ash cloud.
A wealth of photos of the eruption taken from various viewpoints (neighboring islands, boats, in-flight) have emerged on social media and elsewhere. Among other details (i.e. that the height of the plume originally reported by VSI, only 3km) was a large underestimation and is more close to 15-20 km as estimated by VAAC Darwin.
At least 2 pyroclastic flows were produced by partial collapse of the eruption column. This can be seen on pictures taken during the early stages of the eruption. At least one of these flows crossed the shore and continued to travel for about 2-3 km above the sea water (see picture by Sofyan Efendi).
An interesting collection of images can be found at Culture Volcan's post about the eruption.

ash emission from Bocca Nuova this morning

Posted Image

Current tremor signal (ECPNZ station, INGV Catania)

Although tremor dropped significantly yesterday evening, mild strombolian activity from the New SE crater continued throughout the night. This morning, new ash emissions from the Bocca Nuova occurred again. Whether this announces a new phase of (different) activity will have to be seen...
Video from this night's activity:

San Miguel volcano news & activity updates

latest (2014) | 2013 | 2012
Saturday, May 31, 2014

Small ash emissions were reported at Chaparrastique volcano yesterday. Local observers heard rumblings and noticed ash fall in the area of Alpina Carreto. Apart from a possible eruption, a major hazard is posed by mud slides and mud flows at the slopes of the volcano. Civil protection ordered new evacuations. According to local press, school classes were suspended in 12 schools located within 5 kilometers radius of Chaparrastique due to landslides in the area generated by the rains.

This link doesn't update for me anymore. It still has yesterday's date.

Today the Australian airspace has re-opened due to a change in the wind direction but there is no information about other flights affected (e.g. Indonesia) which is a bit strange.

you have to wait for the updated images every day I think it only updates once a day when the satellite is over head (choose the date at the bottom) the only image I can get today is from the aqua/modis and it looks like its eruption over for now unless something else happens

Volcanoes Today, 1 Jun 2014: Etna, Pavlov, Sangeang Api, Fuego

Sunday Jun 01, 2014 12:00 PM |

Weak (but among the strongest during past night) strombolian activity at the New SE crater
Posted Image
Dissipating aerosol plume from Saturday's eruption at Sangeang Api

MODIS hot spots at Pavlov volcano (MODVOLC, Univ. Hawaii)

Etna (Sicily, Italy): Activity has decreased. No new ash emissions from the Bocca Nuova could be noticed on webcam images and the strombolian activity at the New SE crater, although still present, has weakened and become much more sporadic as well.

Sangeang Api (Indonesia): After the violent eruption on Saturday, a strong initial explosion followed by at least 3 other, but smaller explosions and ash emissions until yesterday, activity at the volcano has calmed down significantly. Weaker ash and steam emissions still continue but at significantly reduced intensity.

The Indonesian Volcanological Survey (VSI) lowered the alert status back to 2 ("waspada") on a scale of 1-4.

BNPB, Indonesian Civil Defense, has distributed more than 15,000 dust masks to people in the town of Bima at about 40 km distance to the SW.

Pavlov (Alaska Peninsula, USA): After about 1 year of pause, a NEW eruption started at the volcano on 30 May. Ground observers saw a small lava flow from a vent on the upper NE side of the cone.

"Satellite imagery shows elevated surface temperatures. A low level steam plume is visible in satellite imagery and in the FAA web camera located in Cold Bay. Several pilots reported a gas and ash plume drifting north at 7,000 to 8,000 feet above sea level. Based on these observations AVO raised the Aviation Color Code to ORANGE." (AVO)

Fuego (Guatemala): Activity at the volcano continued with little variation as intermittent strombolian explosions of small to moderate size. Incandescent material was ejected to about 100 m height and fell back to form glowing avalanches on the upper crater. Ash plumes rose to 400-700 m height and drifted for approx. 8 km before dissipating

Mount Sangeang Api on Sangeang Island, Wera district, Bima regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), continued to spew volcanic ash after it erupted on Friday. Thousands of residents located in villages in the three closest districts to the volcano are reportedly in urgent need of masks and clean drinking water. "Until Sunday morning, there were reports of volcanic tremors. Volcanic activity including gas and volcanic ash had also occurred, but this is now in decline," the province's Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) head, Wedha Magma Ardhi, told The Jakarta Post in Mataram on Sunday. He said Sangeang's declining volcanic activity could be seen from the smoke released on Sunday, which was less thick than on previous days. People in Wera village, Wera district, could also now see the volcano's peak, which was previously obscured by smoke. A disaster relief team dispatched by the NTB BPBD arrived in Wera district, Bima, on Saturday morning, to distribute masks, emergency tents and ready-to-eat food to locations prepared for evacuation. Wedha said there had been no mass evacuation as the volcano was located on Sangeang Pulo island, around 10 kilometers from Bima's mainland. Sangeang Pulo was also uninhabited. It is reported that around 40 farming families from Wera district use lands on Sangeang Pulo for farming. "They were all evacuated before the volcano erupted on Friday," said Wedha. He said people in three districts, namely Ambalawi, Sape and Wera, the three closest areas to the volcano, still needed a supply of masks and clean water. The Social Affairs Ministry and the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) had also provided emergency assistance to those affected by the eruption. "Emergency relief has been delivered via land as Sultan Salahuddin Airport in Bima is still closed due to volcanic ash," said Wedha.

yes but it doesn't mean its over yet as we seen in 2010 eruptions can start and end then start again from a different vent in the volcano system although this time it probably is the end of this one as it historically has only been VEI3 eruptions from this one and the recent eruption looked to be a VEI3-4 so it probably is all we will see.

I wouldn't mind seeing a VEI6-7 going off somewhere in the next few years as it would be fun to see something like that these days with all the media we have now to be able to view it.

two VEI7 eruptions at once would be a little scary with what it might do worldwide to crops and ultimately us but its like a big vei8 from likes of Yellowstone, toba or campi flegrei among others in some sick way we all want to see something like that happen

I couldn't agree more but I would even settle for a VEI5!

I would settle for that as well but would like it to be in Iceland with a 2010 like weather set up as long as its not like laki piling out poisonous gases to kill us as it would be quite cool to maybe get that sunlight half blocked out creepy thing going on with a volcanic eruption

interesting post from iceland geology

In the Icelandic news today there is a article about new study on the deep Reykjanes Ridge. According to that that study an eruption took place deep on the Reykjanes Ridge sometimes in the past 20 years. Following this eruption a sharp and strong earthquake activity took place at this same location. No signs of this eruption where visible on the surface of the ocean. At this location the depth is around 2 to 3 km. The unnamed volcano is at around the location at 61N degree north, this makes the location around 400 to 500 km from land. The study did compare scans of the ocean floor at this location taken in the year 1994 to new ones taken in the year 2013. This newer scans clearly showed that eruptions had taken place in the time period between those scans of the ocean floor. It is not known when this eruptions took place or how large they where, or for how long they lasted. There have been earthquakes swarms at this location in the past 20 years.

Volcanoes Today, 3 Jun 2014: Pavlov, Santa María / Santiaguito, Popocatépetl

Tuesday Jun 03, 2014 09:00 AM |

MODIS hot spots at Pavlov volcano (MODVOLC, Univ. Hawaii)

Steam and light ash emissions from Popocatépetl yesterday

Pavlov (Alaska Peninsula, USA): The low-level eruption of the volcano has escalated, the Alaska Volcano Observatory reports: "Seismic tremor increased starting about 2300 UTC yesterday and pilots have recently reported ash clouds to 22,000 ft. ASL. Recent satellite images show a plume extending over 80 km east of the volcano." (AVO)
A large thermal hot spot indicates the presence of fresh lava flows on the flanks of the volcano.#####

Popocatépetl (Central Mexico): The number of emissions of steam, gas and occasionally fine ash increased during 1-2 June. CENAPRED also recorded several episodes of weak harmonic tremor, consistent with continuing slow arrival of magma at the summit crater.
At 08:08 and 08:28 local time yesterday, two medium sized exhalations occurred, which were accompanied by emissions of fine ash. This started a train of small to medium sized emissions that produced a continuous plume of gases and fine ash headed towards the WSW.

Santa María / Santiaguito (Guatemala): Ongoing heavy rainfalls continue to trigger strong lahars, particularly through the Nimá I and San Isidro rivers.

KÄ«lauea volcano eruption update

Week of June 2nd, 2014

Update Mon 02 Jun 23:46

Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

This past week we have seen Kilauea tiltmeter networks record slowing DI inflationary tilt (7 microradians since May 24, see photo) while the lava lake within Halemaumau crater continued to rise sporadically and was at an estimated 34-35 m (112-115 ft) this morning. Gas emissions continued to be elevated at the summit.

Over 100 earthquakes have been recorded over the past week around various areas of Kilauea! Along the east rift zone of Kilauea, glow was observed from the north, south, southeast and northeast spatter cones within Pu'u 'O'o crater. This suggests that activity is building at this location, which has been erupting consistently since January 1983.

With the lava lake at such a high point, right now is an excellent time to view the summit eruption. When the weather is right the bright orange glow produced by this lava lake within Halemaumau crater is the brightest we have seen yet! Stay tuned for more information as eruption conditions change here on Kilauea-
