Quietened down for now but I wouldn't be surprised at another burst of tremors sooner than later.

However new uplift has been noted

The Hunga tonga ha'hai  volcanic eruption, has been upgraded to a VE6 and is said to have been as powerful as Krakatoa and more powerful than Pinatubo.

Shows that large eruptions don't always have much impact of the climate. In this case it was a the lack of sulpher dioxide. it's also failed to produce the sunsets that Krakatua did.

Meanwhile earthquake activity in Reykjanes peninsula haver died down again probably menaing the intrusion has stalled and prob ably reduces the chance of an eruption in the coming weeks. Will the next intrusion do the trick?

Mount etna is now quietly producing a lava flow from a vent lower down from the south east crater.

After going quiet for several weeks earthquake activity has suddenly picked up shortly after a larger quake.

EN.VEDUR.IS

Iceland Meteorological office - Earthquakes, Reykjanes peninsula, North Atlantic

Last time it was like that a few months later the eruption started at Fagradalsfjall so we maybe back on again for some action in south west Iceland in the coming months.

Still ongoing. Maybe worth keeping an eye on this webcam as the earyhquakes are centred in the same volcano

If anything happens it's unlikely to be via the orginal cone morel ikely a new fissure. Of cours eit could go on for months or just stop again.

More webcams linked from the video here. Apparently the earth quakes are centred under the series of vents from last year.

No eruption but a big quake on the live cam. Pic shows after effects. Apparently a 5.2. May took some of the cone with it.

They can't make up the mind how big it was been down to 4.8 back up to 5.4. The camera didn't have shake other cams not so much.

An earthquake of M4.7 shook the Reykjanes peninsula (and was clearly felt in the capital area) at 5.48 pm at only 1.1 km depth! 😳

Edit* after verification the earthquake turned out to be M5.4 at 1.9 km depth! That’s pretty shallow and pretty strong!

Not a lot of change the peninsula rattling away still. Could be weeks before an eruptions occurs or not at all.

Grímsvötn seems to be joining the party as well after a series of small quakes so that has been moved to yellow alert. Otherwise is still rattle and shake
