Interestingly they moved the camera. No idea if a new fissure was going to open or it was just some water being heated up although the ground colour was changing and the ground seemed to be rising as well.

Meanwhile Etna is erupting as well.

Will be interesting to see what happens, they've moved the camera, which may mean they have a concern. We'll see, one way or the other.

Seems to be a little less energy in the open vent at the min, wondering if there are any developments else where, that have reduced pressure. Probably just a lul though.

Well the steam came to nothing however they moved the cam but it's a long way from any action.

We are now down to one vent whether that's enough for the eruption and more open later time will tell or we may well be seeing the easing and final end to the eruption.

There's now two fountain vents in Iceland, the one we've been watching next to first vent, and the one that opened on the other side by second vent. You can watch both here.

I was looking at the fountain, wondering what you were on, then spotted it in the lava flow lol, probably why I missed it.

There's a close up video of the firenado, on this site now, top bit of news. The translation is a classic though.

My favourite one was in Meradalir where it started over the lava field became a dust devil as it moved off then came a Snownado when it wandered into a snow drift. Needless to say the snow killed fairly quickly. So how many Snownado's does one see if your life.

Nar is going pretty strong this evening with fountains higher than the surrounding mountains

The other one isn't doing to bad a job either. Both are fountains tonight.

After the failed new fissure last week it looks like something more promising is now afoot.

The main eruptive centre keeps going quiet then suddenly comes back which to me indicates that the supply is probably beginning to go elsewhere.

Smoke has also returned to the previous spot so plenty to watch right now.

More gas I think, that's looks CO2 rather than ash. Perhaps something more explosive to come.

Things definitely afoot.  The area where I thought another fissure was going to open last week has also started really smoking again in the last half hour or so. There's also fumarole activity by the look of it on the far vent of the second fissure. Clearly a blockage of the main vent so magma is trying to find a another freer way out.

The lave fountaining at times is really good as well 200m to 300m say.

Sadly the new fumarole field didn't develop overnight so probably will smoke for a bit and shut down again. The fumaroles to the right of Nar have died away again.

A lot of speculation whether these are burning moss however burning moss stay in the same spot plus the main field is too far away from the eruptive vent to catch fire. The fumaroles to the right of Nar were there seven days ago and disappeared for several days only to re-appear days later int he same spot an don  the same line. So magma is close tot he surface in those spots but not strong enough to break to the surface.

One of the camera's panned round and finally showed the fumarole activity on the hillside from a different perspective.  Certainly nothing to do with fall out from the vent too far away.
