The secondary vent is the one which interests me.

The levels rise and fall with the main crater so it maybe fed directly from the main cone or it's tapped into the same source and is a new vent in it's own right.  On Etna with have seen secondary vents grow into full cones with activity moving to them.

A bit more has gone this morning. The slumping quite normal and it's quite common if enough slumping takes place that the original location of the eruptive vent can be lost. The Pu‘u‘ō‘ō eruption in Hawaii explained one puzzle for the scientists are the lack of cones on the slopes of Kilauea they simple keep crumbling and eventually get covered by later lava flows.

Cam 7 has ceased functioning overnight but the last shot two vents at the base of Nar so they may start to build a new cone if the activity on there increases.

Quite a lot of lava went into Meradalir Valley yesterday as well.

Out of interest with all the changing domes has this volcano actually increased height from before the eruption or is it just filling up the sorrounding valleys.

Which one.  Iceland one, definitely, I don't know much about the Kilauea.

Where vent five is  now,  was a slope that went down to vent one. Now vent one is swallowed, the surrounding valleys are being filled too. Next to vent five, you can see several small rises, much smaller, that were previous vents in this eruption.

Well Nar has got quite a bit smaller as the new eruptive vent in the base has erode one side of the volcano. You can even see the broken side lifting each time a new eruption comes through.  If there's enough lava it will float away previous break offs have done.

Yep she's changed so much, as is the nature of this type of eruption. Wonder how the new vent will grow.

The broken crater of Nar plenty of lave flowing so it probably slowly repair itself.

Interesting the tremor has dropped and it's still erupting.

The other seismic graph shows an increasing  kri_highpass_2.0.png

Thanks for posting that view. Looks to me that flow from the base, is from where Bob was. Could it be?

Wrong side for Bob I would suspect it's simply a case of magma moving cracks in the crater.

Back to the mantle plume it is, that has to be very very hot lava.

The odd less foggy spell showed the volcano to be erupting yesterday as did the tremor charts which show it to be sleeping right now. The tremor plots can be seen here http://skjalfti.com/tremor-fagradalsfjall.html

You can see the pulsing on the tremor chart very well. The flow is back down to 7.5 m3s.

Having a rest this evening probably kick off again in the early hours as there seems to be a fairly good pattern of eruptions.

A longer sleep than expected but all rag has got it rag now and merrily erupting.

A good shot of the crater yesterday with no lava.

Anybody want too see any action now will be disappointed as it's shut down for the rest of the day likely or not.  A good way to get a clue whether it's going to be erupting is here

As you can see the tremor has taken a nose dive

Other wise a bit of rumbling at Katla and Bárðarbunga volcanoa's
