The flow has edged a little further down Natthagi with a few more overflows from the eastern dam area. As you can see from this link there's going to another overflow from the west into the valley in the next few days but more likely weeks.  Looks like they have moved the loan bulldozer during day.

Geldingadalir has now overflowed at the southern end into Nàtthagi valley.

Looks like the eruption has now stopped pulsing and is providing a steady stream into the lava field.

No idea what they are trying to achieve by building another barrier see https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1e4waWgJKj0cujWRkQyX838qk7t3HblU1&ll=63.87862894485109%2C-22.28484416004149&z=16&fbclid=IwAR3LOHnVEPdiUrJVZggmXMEwOIklD0H9VL_d-MMjHcLYLMZ2ZWEYF_iOngM&entry=yt

At least this will be able to direct the flow into Nattiagi valley and make it take a longer course to the sea. Maybe they are thinking of building another Barrier across the valley as well later. However that will be overwhelmed if the eruption keeps on going.

Okay I found why they are putting Barriers where they are trying to stop it getting to Natthagakriki where could reach a power plant. Well they need to build barriers a bit further back and wider and higher. However if the eruptions goes on for decades won't make any difference.

I think they are directing it away from the power station that at the end of that other valley, they hope to keep it going through nátthagi if possible.

This speeded up version of the lava flow really shows how it is growing in area and depth.

I just like how the lava field rises like a loaf of bread in a oven

Better viewing today. From the time lapse it seems that volcano was quiet active yesterday and earlier on today. The cone has continued breaking and the lava field growing. I guess eventually unless the eruption ends or moves elsewhere the field will merge with the remains of the cone. Slumping is quite common so probably in a few years time it will be difficult to locate the source of the eruption as it's probably mostly buried.

Well in this country at least you're no longer brought up to be responsible for your own actions. it's always someone's elses fault. Perhaps it's the sane world over. So if someone goes through the lava someone will sue saying there weren't any warning signs.

Apparently very active overnight with some explosions and small collapse to end it all  in the early hours.  Since then it's just smoked and no further activity. Could be the end of eruption who knows ? Could be just resting or magma going somewhere else.

It's done this once before, big collapse blocked the cone, we'll see if she recovers again, or if eruption stays in pipes, or if pressure brings it out somewhere else. I'll be surprised if it's fully over, but we'll see.
