Oh yes, it is awfully cloudy now.

I saw reports that the ash column was reaching 30,000 feet so far.

Annoying isn’t it. The plume of ash is reported to be bellowing 4000m above the crater.

I found one without the cloud cover :)

I've found these live webcams to be absolutely captivating! Had Monday off work and must have clocked up a few hours just watching the plume develop and occasionally the camera shake from the tremors. Amazing to see the power of the natural world.

They are addictive indeed! It brings me back to the days I was watching Eyja erupt back in 2010.

Also interesting to see how changeable the weather is in Bali.

Yes the weather does seem to blow in and clear up quite often... I suppose the ash plume effects the immediate local weather a fair amount, there's a lot of visible volcanic lightning during the night. Awesome!

Looks like we either have end of eruption or sometimes the case the quiet before something bigger happens

The eruption has certainly eased but I would be surprised if it ends like that.

Worth keeping an eye on the seismogram. https://magma.vsi.esdm.go.id/live/seismogram/

Yes, 15 km. Pity the eruption was not in the tropics to block some sunlight.

Some impressive explosions every now and again LIVE from the Stromboli Volcano on Sicily, Italy

Live webcam below where you should see a small glow in the centre of the cam. Keep watching and turn the volume up

This  could be quite beneficial with regard to heights in the Arctic especially if it were to find an extra 20,000 ft or so.

The eruption eased very quickly though.

I beg your pardon!!! :nonono:

On a serious note, yes it was a short but impressive eruption.

While nothing is happening a report of Etna is sliding towards ese. I knew the eastern flank was sliding towards the sea but not the whole volcano. Impact well in our life time probably none although predicting eruptions maybe made more difficult due to the sliding action.
