Maybe, but trust me even though they are 36 miles away, that's one place i wouldn't wanna be atm, change of wind direction and all that!

But yes :D them Snow capped mountains to wake up every morning too

Seismographs have picked up a swarm of earthquakes in the northwestern corner of Yellowstone National Park, including dozens early Tuesday. The University of Utah Seismograph Station reported five small earthquakes including those with magnitudes of 3.4, 2.7 and 3.2 in a 20-minute period starting at 3:33 a.m. in an area 16 to 18 miles south of Gardiner. Earthquake information specialist Paul Roberson says there were another 20 to 30 small quakes Tuesday morning that hadn't yet been posted on the university's website. He called it a fairly normal swarm for Yellowstone. He didn't expect there to be any damage. Seismographs recorded 31 quakes in the same area south of Gardiner on Saturday, while another 23 were reported last Wednesday and Thursday in an area between 18 and 19 miles east-southeast of West Yellowstone.

Explosion at Ubinas volcano yesterday

Sangeang Api (Indonesia): Eruptive activity continues in the form of low-level ash emissions. VAAC Daarwin reported a volcanic ash plume at estimated 10,000 ft (3 km) altitude extending more than 100 km to the west. #############

Dukono (Halmahera): Ash plumes from strong strombolian activity continue to show up as alerts from VAAC Darwin. A plume extending 50 nautical miles to the north was seen last evening. Its height was at estimated 7,000 ft (2.1 km) altitude.

Pavlof (Alaska Peninsula, USA): After a phase of intense eruptive activity yesterday, the volcano continues to erupt lava fountains and flows, along with associated ash plumes, but has decreased its activity.

Starting around 23:00 local time yesterday evening, the effusion rate increased rapidly, lava fountaining at the summit reached 200 m height and the lava flows on the northern flank became more alimented. As a result of violent interaction between lava and ice/snow, pyroclastic flows formed and descended on the flanks. An associated ash plume rose to approx. 24,000 ft (7 km) altitude and drifted more than 70 km to the east.

Today, this activity continues but at reduced pace. AVO lowered the aviation color code from RED to ORANGE: "Although the eruption of Pavlof continues, seismic tremor has deceased over the past 12 hours and has remained relatively steady throughout the day at a much lower level than that of yesterday.

Recent satellite data and web camera views of the eruption plume indicate that there are now two distinct parts of the plume. The part of the plume that reaches high above the volcano appears to be mainly steam and gas with minor ash present, extending south of the volcano. Additionally, pyroclastic flow activity on the north flank is producing diffuse ash emissions that result in areas of hazy air, with variable concentrations of ash below 10,000 ft.

Ubinas (Peru): A relatively strong explosion occurred yesterday morning at the volcano, followed by ongoing ash emissions. Overall, the activity at the volcano has been showing again an increasing trend.##############

The ash plume was approx. 3 km high and rose to 10 km altitude, then drifted east:

IT'S a volcano, but not as we know it. This cerulean eruption takes place in the Danakil Depression, a low-lying plain in Ethiopia. The volcano's lava is the usual orange-red – the blue comes from flames produced when escaping sulphuric gases burn.

The Meteorological Agency is warning that Mount Kusatsushirane, located between Gunma and Nagano prefectures, could erupt on a small scale and has warned people not to approach the crater. The agency raised the alert level to 2 from 1 on the scale of 5, and advised that large pieces of volcanic cinder could be scattered up to 1 km from the summit of the 2,160-meter mountain. The warning was issued Tuesday after the agency's advisory panel on volcanic eruptions compiled a report indicating the mountain is showing signs of activity. Panel Chairman Tosuper dupersugu Fujii said there was "no sign" that the activity will lead to a huge eruption. "Even if it erupts, it is likely to be on a small scale," he said. The panel reported that volcanic seismic activity has been increasing since early March, while a change in magnetic force, likely to indicate rising temperatures underground, has also been observed.

The continuing explosive activity at the Ubinas volcano in southern Peru has had locals worried for months, and now the volcano's picked up a new trick- throwing rocks. According to El Comercio, Ubinas has recently begun launching volcanic rocks between 10 and 20 centimeters in length. Reports indicate that some of these rocks have been displaced as far as almost two kilometers. The closest town, the village of Querapi, is four kilometers away. Geologist Jersy Marino told Andina news agency that "Just like [the lava] sometimes is pulverized and comes out as ash, which falls on nearby towns, that same lava also fragments into blocks that are 10 centimeters to two meters long, and they're launched towards the sides of the volcano, and we call them ballistic projectiles." Marino added that local residents should stay far away from Ubinas, as continued explosive activity is expected.

Reports of a "volcano-like eruption" in Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh has triggered panic among the people of the area. Flames and a hot liquid stream were seen spewing out of a hill 100 m from Gadiyada village. The village is over 200 km from Shimla. After a report by the state geologists confirmed the eruption as 'small magmatic activity', a team of Geological Survey of India (GSI) reached the site on Thursday. This is the first time such a volcanic activity has been witnessed in the state. Fearing that a bigger eruption could damage their agricultural land and houses, residents of around half a dozen villages in the vicinity of the eruption are anxiously awaiting the final report of GSI team. "Gases and liquids are being emitted from holes in a 10 feet area around the hill where the volcanic activity took place," said Ved Prakash, president of Drang panchayat. He said the eruption, unheard of in this area, caused panic among villagers. Unmindful of the threat of more volcanic activity the site has turned into a tourist spot with hundreds of people from surrounding areas heading there to see the phenomen on. To prevent anything untoward the district administration has decided to fence off the entire area and deploy security guards. Chief parliamentary secretary Jagjivan Pal in whose Sulah assembly constituency the area falls visited the spot on Tuesday. He said the flames and the hot liquid emanating from the hill had created panic. "Underground temperature in the area has increased manifold and people say that a steel electricity pole had become red hot a couple of days back," he added. Pal said a sulphur-like material and black stone is flowing out from the perimeter of the hill. Palampur SDM Bhupender Attri said a team of geologists from state had confirmed small scale magmatic activity in the area. As chances of this activity escalating in coming days cannot be ruled out, a GSI team has been called to study the area and check the strata. "Flames were witnessed so possibility of reoccurrence cannot be ruled out. Now we are waiting for the final report from GSI team," he added. Former state geologist Arun Sharma said occurrence of such a volcanic eruption has been reported for the first time in Himachal Pradesh but the presence of magmatic substance is not new to the state. He said that existence of hot sulphur springs at Manikaran, Kalath, Tattapni and Vashishth confirms that magmatic material is present underneath these springs.

these two comments in that statement jumped out at me a bit could it be an unknown super volcano system that has started to show activity or is it a new magma plume working its way to the surface like a Yellowstone plume.

Etna (Sicily, Italy): No particular changes have occurred recently. Very sporadic and weak strombolian explosions continue at the summit vent of the New SE crater. Bocca Nuova also continues to produce sporadic ash emissions.

Zhupanovsky (Kamchatka, Russia): A possible new eruption could have occurred yesterday at the volcano, but it could not be confirmed so far. Based on a pilot report KVERT and VAAC Tokyo alerted about a possible ash plume rising from the volcano at estimated 6 km altitude. The alert status of the volcano was raised from green to yellow.

If the report is true, it would be the second eruption of the volcano within a relatively short time, the last being from 24 Nov past year. However, no volcanic ash plume could be detected on satellite imagery so far and it could well be a false eruption report.

Batu Tara (Sunda Islands, Indonesia): A volcanic ash plume at 7,000 ft (2.1 km) altitude was observed this morning extending 20 nautical miles to the NW. (VAAC Darwin)

Santa María / Santiaguito (Guatemala): The tropical storm Boris that has been hitting the country over the past days continues to produce heavy rainfalls that in turn cause large mud flows.

The large collapse of parts of the lava dome on 9 May has left significant amounts of hot debris at the foot of the volcano, in particular in the upper river bed of the Nima 1. These deposits are now being remobilized and descend the river beds as boiling hot mud flows that contain boulders, tree parts and other debris of up to several meters in size and are extremely destructive.

CONRED has issued warnings to avoid all areas near river beds and deltas.

The videos below were shot at Castillo Armas Bridge, located 20 miles away. The mudslide had time to mix with colder waters of the river, but the flow still steams due to the hot masses that were incorporated into the lahar:

Another consequence of the current lahars was that INSIVUMEH staff was forced to evacuate the Santiaguito Volcano Observatory, even though it is located approx. 100 m away and 10 m above the river bed. INSIVUMEH describes that the building was threatened by mud waves 5-9 m height, and that boulders of 5 meters in diameter could be seen carried by the flow.

Ash emission from the New SE crater this morning.(Radiostudio7 webcam)

Glow and ash emissions continue to be observed at the summit vent of the New SE crater. The intensity of this still weak activity slowly increased this morning with 5-10 small explosions per hour.

A small event this afternoon at 13:42 (local time) from the New SE crater produced a reddish-brown ash plume generated by partial collapse on the upper part of the eastern flank of the cone.

Tremor amplitude at Chaparrastique volcano over the past weeks (MARN)

The Chaparrastique volcano continues to emit pulsating gas and sometimes ash plumes from its crater. Tremor has been showing large fluctuations over the past days and now risen again.

Civil Protection in San Jorge and local observers in the village of El Carreto reported some millimeters of ash fall on the northern flank of the volcano.

The volcanic system remains in a highly unstable state and a larger eruption could occur with little or no warning.#############

Mild strombolian activity is still continuing at the New SE crater.

A short sequence of more energetic seismo-volcanic events occurred this morning most probably at Bocca Nuova crater.

It wasn't visible on webcams but only on the seismic signal.

Tremor is currently low.

Strombolian explosion at Etna's NSEC this evening (Radiostudio7 webcam)

Etna (Sicily, Italy): No changes in activity have occurred. Sporadic small strombolian explosions continue from the summit crater of the New SE crater. Tremor is low.

Semisopochnoi (United States, Aleutian Islands): Another remote volcano in Alaska is showing signs of unrest or possible activity. The Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) sent out the following alert:

"A swarm of earthquakes at Semisopochnoi volcano that started at 10:00 AKDT (18:00 UTC) on June 9 escalated yesterday, June 12, at approximately 12:00 AKDT (20:00 UTC). The continuation of this anomalous seismic activity through the night prompts AVO to raise the Aviation Color Code to YELLOW and the Volcano Alert Level to ADVISORY. No eruptive activity is currently indicated.

"AVO is closely monitoring the situation and will issue further updates as conditions change.

Zhupanovsky volcano (Kamchatka): eruption confirmed, continuing ash emissions

Ash emissions of Zhupanovsky volcano on 7 June the morning after the initial explosion at night (photo: Vasily Yaremchuk via Evgeny Karpov, @Jeenka41 / twitter)

The eruption at the volcano that was initially reported by a pilot who observed a 6 km ash plume continues with smaller ash emissions.

While the initial report left some doubts about the eruption, confirmation was soon after provided by the presence of a SO2 plume, ash deposits visible on satellite imagery and photos taken on location.

The attached photo shows ongoing ash emissions the morning of 7 June following the main explosion. Two secondary flank vents producing steam plumes and dark streaks on the lower left flank of the volcano representing mud flows that were generated by lava-snow interaction are visible.

Stromboli volcano (Eolian Islands, Italy): strong activity
Thursday Jun 12, 2014 10:49 AM | BY: T
Posted Image
Two simultaneous strong explosions from the NW (l) and NE ® vents at Stromboli on 9 June

The activity at the volcano has strongly increased since about 2 weeks ago. Our group tour visited Stromboli during 8-11 June and observed at least 14 active glowing vents. It appears that the magma level has once again risen to very near the surface of the crater terrace.
About half of them were showing constant or, some, intermittent weak to strong spattering: in particular, the twin vents of the central crater, two vents in the western crater, the NW hornito, as well as, intermittently, the hornito at the northwestern rim of the NE crater.
Typical strombolian explosions, some quite strong with ejection heights to 200-300 m, occurred at intervals of 5-10 minutes mainly from the westernmost twin vents, the NW hornito, the large NE vent, and occasionally also from the central crater. The NW hornito often produced a 3-5 meters tall pale purple flame-like gas jet that usually preceded candle-like eruptions accompanied by very loud jet-engine noises.
Pictures from this activity will be posted later.

jet stream looking like it might be getting ready to get into a pattern of blowing over Iceland right into Europe again lets get another eruption on the go again just katla or something else with a bigger bang to it this time a little more excitement than some ash above you that you cant see and wouldn't even know was there and would be something to add a little intrigue to boring nothing happening sunny days.

This is where my mind goes every time a high pressure cell is positioned in such a way to bring the jet stream from Iceland!

Unfortunately, Katla doesn't seem in a hurry to produce the goods!

VOLCANO WATCH: Mauna Loa Showing Signs of Stirring

After a 30-year repose, Mauna Loa may be slowly stirring to life. While there are no signs of impending eruption, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has recorded an increased level of seismic activity on the flanks and summit of Mauna Loa over the past 13 months.

Four distinct earthquake swarms — clusters of earthquakes occurring closely in time and location — have occurred since March 2013.

Each swarm began with earthquakes northwest of the summit (Moku‘Äweoweo Crater) at 4 to 15 km (2.5-9 mi) deep, followed by shallow earthquakes at the summit from several days to one month later. These earthquakes have all been less than magnitude-2.2, except for a magnitude-3.5 earthquake on May 9, 2014.

The recent swarms have not been associated with the deformation of the ground surface that we would expect from intrusion of significant amounts of magma into shallow levels beneath Mauna Loa.

However, ground deformation indicating shallow magma accumulation has been measured during many of the past 30 years, including two episodes of very rapid inflation immediately following the most recent eruption in 1984, and again from 2004-2006. The latter inflation started with a swarm of deep, long-period earthquakes at 45 km (28 mi) under the volcano.

Prior to the 1984 eruption, seismicity was elevated for at least three years, with 28 earthquakes greater than magnitude 3, and 2 earthquakes greater than magnitude 4.

The magnitude-6.7 earthquake on November 16, 1983, may also have been triggered by the pressurizing magma system of Mauna Loa. Earthquakes prior to the 1984 eruption were typically located northwest of the summit at depths greater than 5 kilometers (3 miles) and on the upper Southwest Rift Zone at depths less than 5 km (3 mi).

The seismic network that monitors Mauna Loa has been significantly improved since 1984.

As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2011, all of the seismic stations in the HVO seismic network were upgraded to use technology that results in less noise and better recordings.

The current seismic network is better able to detect and locate smaller earthquakes than the network prior to these upgrades.
