A really sharp frost last night. The canal has once again frozen over. It was lovely walking the dog about 7am, everywhere White with frost and a hazy blue sky. The over night low was-4.4c, current temp 2.1c with cloud.

I was just getting used to the idea of spring breaking through, but it looks like we are in for a cold dry spell for a few days.

I agree. It's been very pleasant outside in the last few days, and wouldn't mind this continuing for the next week or so.

I'm surprised to see the temperatures climb up to around 8*C now, as it feels quite cold out side.

oh yes prefer this to rain, typical early spring setup on the models, today max of 10.0°C, min of -3.1°C, rain tomorrow then should be dry all next week but cloudy

Yep, the weather has been pleasant over the last few days. Long spells of sunshine with only patchy cloud, and although it hasn't felt particularly mild, it hasn't exactly felt particularly cold either. Still, much prefer this weather over dull and wet weather, even if that latter does happen to result in milder temperatures.

Really looking forward to April. Depending on the set-up, the convective potential should increase during this month.

April can produce some dramatic weather, and unforecast deep snow like this which was not in the forecast at all,it

was like April 1998 but this just gave one dose of 9inches of snow and blizzards.

April is a month that has changed alot though since only for the greenland high a couple of years ago,it has turned into a very warm month overall in the 2000`s.

Here is that april 2000 chart.
