A very nice afternoon after a cloudy morning, lots of blue sky and it felt very spring like today in the sun, but Im not expecting another day like this for a while yet!

Thick freezing fog all day. Dry this morning but continuous light snow from 1345 until present. Only 0.7cm of lying snow from this but all trees etc, as well as the ground, have a snow cover so it looks much more snowy than the actual depth would suggest.

-1C here in Deiniolen, Gwynedd and believe it or not with a fantastic clear / starry sky with the moon clear of any clouds over Ireland. Cars already frozen over.

A sharp frost this morning everything sparkling white in the blue sky and sunshine, the sun struggled to clear the frost until late morning. Under blue skies and sunshine and light winds it still felt rather cold reminding everyone it is still only mid Feb and the sun is still fairly weak. Tonight an air frost quickly developed, currently clear skies, could see a -5 tonight, one of the coldest parts of England I imagine. I note Shap Fell is already -4 degrees and Braemar -9 degrees, think tonights mins will be appreciably lower than forecast.

Quite a nice day here in Southend with just a few clouds , felt mild in the sun..

Met Office is a little out with there temp forcast (again) though, supposed to be 2-3c at midnight, already -1.0c and still dropping at 22:25hrs .. edit -1.6 at 23:06 !
