Heavy snow in Embra this morning - white over from the city centre south and west and even at times at sea level in Leith. Arthur's seat is looking very Alpine - again.

Rain turned to snow in the space of 20 minutes here early this morning and left just under 2 inches before clearing away around lunchtime.

Very much a suprise.

Rain turned to sleet and ice pellets around 1600 then snow by 1700. Just over 1cm lying and the snow has stopped.

The heaviest of the precipitation seemed to miss much of the Lake District this morning transferring to the east instead, we only saw some light drizzle, had the pricipitation been heavier I'm sure plenty of spots around here would have seen some snow.

Snowed for about an hour in Norwich, provided a light dusting on some surfaces, but now turned to rain.

Started snowing at about 3.30pm lasting roughly four hours though it was very light and wet in texture. We have a cm covering preety poor, the front weakened considerably by the time it hit us, places further to the west received a bit more.

Still it will go down as another day with snowfall recorded and lying, it could be there in the morning given temps will stay close to freezing overnight, so we may record a day with snow cover..

Thin snow cover here, would estimate half a cm, after light snow early this morning.
