Invest 92S has become Tropical Cyclone Fami in the Mozambique Channel, with intensity at 35kts. Fami is moving eastwards and is close to making landfall on the west coast of Madagascar. Fami could dissipate over land, but there is a chance he could survive the crossing and re-develop east of Madagascar. Primary concern from Fami is flooding rains.

Fami has strengthened to 40kts but is now moving inland. The LLC is still well defined and is being enhanced by strong outflow channels, which will help Fami sustain itself over the long land trek. Fami should emerge off the east coast of Madagascar in around 36hrs time, where it has a brief chance to re-strengthen before shear increases on the east-southeasterly track.
