As per the other thread, Its probably best to now have one dedicated to this.

Gloucester has ground to a halt.

Any grit has been washed away with a good 4cm of fresh snow on roads pavements and grass.

The cotsworlds are also very bad with locally around 8cm and roads are now impassable.

Here in NE Bristol/S Glos, it's been falling for a few hours and is now settling on the grass and shed/garage roofs. :drinks:

Still snowing here.

Some roads have cars in ditches.

Snow is melting quickly, so as soon as this stops we should be looking at a complete thaw by this afternoon. ( Although the temp has dropped to 0c now from 3c. )

Report of snow falling quite profusely around South Cerney from one of my customers, the snow map dosen't have such a high risk at this time so it might catch a few out:

Easing off here, now. I think that's probably it for me!

Same here.

Its caused a fair bit of chaos today though.

There seems to be more SW, however i would expect that to be rain.

Heavy snow here in High Wycombe, Bucks for about the last 45 mins. Settling on grass, cars and slightly in trees and hedges.

I'm sure it will melt as soon as it stops.

Same here in Odiham (N.Hants-280ft). At 9.30am there was a light covering of wet snow. Interestingly, on the drive to work the temperature rose from 0C to 1.5C - this is a 12 mile journey ESE to the Surrey borders. Other than some snow at 600ft, there is no snow just a few miles away. This just shows how marginal the event is. Whether there is snow further east than Hants will depend on how heavy the PPN is and whether you are at 500ft or more. So far it seems to me that the MetO/BBC have got this very difficult forecast just about spot on.

Still heavy snow here where I work (Harwell, Oxfordshire). I guess because we're higher up it's still snow, I have heard where I live (Burnham, Bucks) it's raining. Not too worried about being snowed in as it looks very wet and I'm sure will melt quickly later. However I'm sure we've had about 2 or 3cms on the grass now, and it's even starting to settle on the pavement. I must admit I really don't like these brief snow events, it gets your hopes up then goes!

This morning's snow illustrates its fickle nature in the UK. Remember 10 days ago when the south was forecast snow on the Sunday and it rained - despite a continental flow and uppers of -7 to -9ºC. This morning's uppers are around -2ºC yet the snow is more widespread... Makes me feel sorry for forecasters!

Yucky old rain here at home Coast, 3.3c and 1.8 Dews so not suprising, but i guess the forcasters called it correct so far for it to be mainly rain on the coastal fringes, sigh..

And still the snow keeps falling here in Oxfordshire! I might actually think about going home soon, but surely it can't get that bad......can it!? The Grass is totally covered here now. Maybe touching 4cm now.

Been snowing quite heavy here for about 30 mins, not much laying because of the rain earlier but beginning to get a few areas with a slight dusting. Radar says rain at the moment.
