As others have said yet another stunning addition!

I wonder when the Met office will start releasing the data for the super resolution radar (I believe its probably doppler?) and whether one day down the line NW will be able to get such data, if this site keeps growing thats certainly possible I'd have thought?!

Have we got a date yet? I'm looking forward to this :)

In fact I just bought a year's radar subscription this morning...

I'd like to say that the first (and very early) beta version will be available for everyone to try out tomorrow, but although the basics are in, we're just transferring some items to a new server which is taking some time and that may hold it up, as may any other unforeseen bugs which appear.

Bear in mind though that the early versions will be limited in terms of features and may have bugs within them, but over the coming weeks we'll iron out issues and add further features ready for the full release.

Sounds exciting, I'll look forward to it! I think the best thing will be the ability to zoom in on Google Maps...

Never mind, it looks like it's going to be good though. I've never done so much radar watching during such dull weather.

Yep, unfortunately it's not going to be today - we've encountered a bug which is proving a bit troublesome and not something we want to launch the beta viewer with, so it's going to be next week now I'm afraid. Sods law that when you finally name a date and announce a beta version is coming, something comes up to ruin the schedule, sorry!

Awesome!! That radar is going to be fantastic as we start nearing our 'thunderstorm season' - which for me is anytime from April to September

The road networks will be a fantastic addition IMO - it will give me better idea to know whether to go 'chasing' a storm or not, as I'll know exactly where it is.

I take it that the lightning detector will still overlay as per the V4 radars?

there is a bit of a rewrite going on for internet explorer at the moment but it's still no.1 priority here

Firefox is the way to go... :-)

Good news - hopefully tomorrow will see the initial beta release of the new radar - being the first beta it is likely to still have bugs and will have a (very) limited feature set but hopefully it'll give you all a chance to take a look at the basic functionality, try it out, give your feedback and report any bugs you find.

We're not 100% nailed on for this yet, but I'm pretty hopeful it'll be there tomorrow...
