Sadly falling as rain here but temp is still 2.2C. You will probably be luckier further east.

Feels cold and sky has gone pink in Ealing, west London. Don't know what that means if anything

It's getting closer (at least I think it is) and I'm hoping for some snow but I feel that I may be let down? Currently I have a temperature of -1.7c, however, I don't know the current dew point! Up the road at Heathrow the temperature is +1c with a dew point of -2c.

This should be good for snow right? As I say I don't know it but can't imagine my dew point would be above 0c unsure.gif

I wasn't sure if there were any other factors to take in to consideration. cc_confused.gif

Don't worry RMC, the dew point cannot be above your air temperature. That would give over 100% relative humidity which isn't really physically possible. (Correct me if I'm wrong someone please).

Your dew point will be around -2.5/-3 I'd have thought.

I guess you could be a great early warning system for me! Currently the radar shows the ppn being some way off still, but the wind seems to have dropped, so maybe the front will start making some headway.

It ain't half taking it's time though. :whistling:

Not here

The Easterly wind is doing it's bit to modify the temps in SE Essex, we are just hovering below 2c and that is Warmer than Central London, sometimes I hate having a Tepid Bath just 6 Miles from my house, ho hum roll on the next Easterly

Totally Right Mikel :lazy:

Dewpoint cannot be higher than your temperature, it can be equal and that would be luverly FOG!

The snow is very light here but is sticking straight away on cars without any melting which suggests that air temps and DP favourable. In the last few years this type of frontal battle has always been rain here so I am pleasantly surprised.

The ppn seems to be beginning to make some headway now over the past couple of NW radar runs, so things could finally start happening this way...Famous last words eh???

EDIT: And what about that heavy ppn over/near Cherbourg. Where is that meant to be going?

They must have got a bit of a battering there from what it seems.

Snowing here now in Peacehaven (east Sussex) for last 10 minutes, settling on cars and frozen roads already.

And i'm only 1 mile inland at 66 meters above sea level

There will be some heavy snow as the front moves slowly over the SE. Don't be surprised to see the front stall/pivot over the SE before moving North. This is something Steve Murr commented on.

Temp here is 0.5C

Yes, looks good from this streaming cam. Although, you can't see the ground you can see the snow falling!
