I've just driven back from the Ilse of Wight and what a stunning drive it was! Deep deep snow across a beautiful wintery countryside. Absolutely gobsmaked by some of the depths of snow I've seen across parts of hampshire and west Sussex!

What a fantastic cold spell! With more promised and the weekend nearly here. If I never see naother cold snap in my lifetime I will allways have the memories of this epic winter wonderland!

WOOP and indeed WOOP again!

Good afternoon,

I do agree, across the country it looks great. However, up here in MK i don't think we have beaten last Feb's snow depths but the temperatures are amazing, it dropped below -6 here last night!!

I tell you what. If this was summer you would think a big thunderstorm is approaching. It is that dark overhead. Nothing falling from it at the moment though. Very eery though. The seagulls are inland as well, which is a sign something is brewing. I wonder...

I just had 5 minutes of thick snowflakes falling. There was nothing on the radar.

Im starting to think convection is making an atempt. Dark clouds all around.

Can only think the low is moving closer to land. And this dark cloud is associated with the leading edge of it, but perhaps carries no PPN?

Any low pressure experts out there, that can explain this mysterious dark cloud over a large portion of our region? Where's Kold when you need him.

Very thunderstorm like.

Perhaps dry convection cloud?

darkening here too but it is actually snowing very lightly, just a flurry, but a persistent one at that - perhaps too light to be detected? Nevertheless, it is cloudy which is stopping that sun from melting anymore snow for the time being. Still at 0.1C though

Well we have better hope that Line of Snow about 75 Miles East of Great Yarmouth holds it together for tonight as this is the Occlusion and Stream of Snow that should be over the SE Tonight (See Nick F's latest Blog for details)

If you run the radar it is moving West slowly and should tilt so it is alligned NE-SW Tonight

That "Polar Low" is definitely moving SSW now, judging by the sat images.

Infact the core of it appears to be over E Norfolk (Yarmouth etc)

As Paul S says. That finger of white in the middle of the N.Sea should gain strength and get pulled around the N flank of the core. and dump on us later. In theory...
