Everything has been on form in Medway. 2cm measurable snow, very light to light falling snow since around midday and traffic/people still pretty easily able to travel. Now its a case of looking East and North for what ever comes next.(For those that dont have any snow, I'll willingly share!)

It's like Snowmageddon in C London clap.gif

And now the NE Wind is picking up as well, method in my madness coming the 38 miles West to see some snow today, not a lot it seems down in Sunny SE Essex due to lack of posts from that area - either that or they have all lost Tinternet Connection due to the weight of the latest snowstorm rofl.gifrofl.gif

don't know about SE essex, But NE essex is doing brilliantlyyahoo.gif

Over 13CM here in Danbury now and it's still falling at some rate!

I drove through Danbury 30 minutes ago. It wasn't settling and I didn't notice more than 5cm. Roads were wet with massive puddles.

So looking at the reports, looks like SW Essex is one of the only places that snow is not settling at all, even the urban heat island of London is seeing settling snow...what more needs to happen I wonder?!

Archie, thats amazing...4 inches is quite impressive, I'd be amazed with just half of that, not gonna happen though...

When you leaving work Paul?

Just that the heavier precip should work its way down to S.Essex over the next hour, quite honestly if it doesn't settle here then I'll lose the will to live I swear!

VP good to hear...but nothing settling here yet either, quite honestly I think 2cms is likely as my top amount from this and thats totally depending on the heaviest stuff coming down my way.

Well hopefully in the next 30mins

Looks like S & SE Essex is about to get hit hard by that massive area of snow North and North East of the Estuary - There is no escaping it now.

Need to rescue the rubbish car from Upminster Station first :yahoo:

Snow in Norwich in the end didn't amount to that much and thawed on concrete surfaces afterwards, though there has been very little thawing on the grass, where there is about 2-3cm. However, I'm aware that this is more than some people have got, plus of course we had 4-5 inches up in the Geordie heartlands of the North East.

There may be an increasing number of snow showers overnight as that NE'ly takes hold, leading up to some heavy and prolonged ones tomorrow by the looks of it.

TWS whats you view on the weekend for this region - I hear now that there might not be all that much convective stuff now but just light snow not really adding much? - have you any thoughts for the weekend. Cheers

Those of you who said it "wouldn't settle in Central London", eat your words

Snowing heavily here now!

I think that was me! I never said it never settles, just that it takes very heavy snow and very cold temps. Good on you mate! There of London that is snow covered, the better.

Chucking it down here, blowing about in a strengthening wind. Everything is covered again. Must have already added a couple of cm's.

Whilst its still not settling (and this is really getting on my nerves now!) here Upminster is that bit urther inland and thus you may see a good 3-5cms coming down in the space of the next 90 mins or so there, totals wil ldrop away greatly as you get clsoer to the coast...

I wonder whats happening in SE Essex right now and whether they are having the same issues as me with snow not settling...I'm guessing the ESE flow earlier rose temps higher then just inland by the Thames and this is still having an effect even though winds are shifting...

The heavier snow band seems to be moving south into Kent more quickly now. I guess this means it'll clear more quickly too.

Car status = settling on car. And on roofs now. Finally can we start to accumulate and have a notable snowfall? In South Woodham Ferrers.

I would say those slightly further south of CM3 would/are doing better. As the heavier streams on NW radar look just going to the south of you if your in CM3 that is.

I must admit I'm not sure, as I don't have much experience with monitoring these setups for East Anglia and south-east England. It all depends on where the high ends up- if it's close by as per GFS, expect just light snowfalls, if it's quite a fair way north as per ECM, expect significant amounts.

At the moment I think the ECM is the more likely to be right, so the chance of a big snow event at the weekend is still "on".

Think they still have the light precip tbh

The heavier stuff is to their NE Up towards Clacton, this stretches back a good 75 Miles to the NE So if it sits and pivots then bonanza time tonight!

He hopes LOL

I hope that band of heavy snow doesn't sit over Essex for the rest afternoon/evening and comes down here, as I'm bored of the continual light snow here
