Yeah and you watch, as soon as the snow comes they will shut the schools as quick as you can blink!, always the same with most of them anyway.

No problem with that whatsoever ;)

The best part of the health and safety nonsense is the school closures!

I really hope we get a good dumping this week, but what really narks me off is the kids have just had two weeks xmas holiday, back to school today, 2 inches of snow expected tomorrow alone here at least, schools will be shutting early tomorrow and quite expect them to end up having the rest of the week off due to the snow and schools staying shut!

When i was at school, we never had any of this unless the heating failed. I used to walk to school with snow up to my knees!. I survived and it did me know harm!, bloody legs ached by the time i got to school though lol

Toooo many health and safety issues nowadays!

On the bright side, good luck to everyone! :)

No problem with that whatsoever ;)

Cant blame you, i would be the same if still at school, wasn`t so lucky in my day but fair play to you :)

Only way I'd get a day off is if the roads were totally impassable (unlikely in the midlands especially in the city) and my electricity or internet went off - otherwise it's struggle in or, at best, work from home.

I hope they are going to be very wrong , as they have been consistent in keeping the midlands out of the warning zone with the exception of links and Nots .

That's just brilliant! Going have to save a copy of that... 2009/2010 - the winter which avoided the Midlands

Temperature now -2.7c and rapidly rising, if I fail to get an ice day today I will officially declare it impossible to get one!

Surprised nobody has mentioned the Met O advisory for the E Midlands on Wed. This suggests the snow showers will move well inland.

Looking fantastic for me by the way. :whistling:

We've got a slight dusting in the carpark at work, though it might just be frost! Had some snow at night last week in Ashby, can't remember what day though but had gone by morning!

My bet is that coz the met office is a southeastern affair, they simple FORGOT to put up warnings for the midlands

Anyway the latest fax shows an occluded front for tomorrow with a kink in it over the east midlands and, seeing as occluded fronts tend to be amongst the pokiest, I'd say we'd struggle not to get "no" snow from it.

(but knowing our luck :shok: )
