this is dead weird im getting snow here ? Lovely moderate snow now i live in thornaby btw :)

If it stays as snow this could well be your turn for deep snow, radar looks fantastic for your area, at least a couple of hours of heavy snow. The showers will probably pull out into the North Sea eventually and remain offshore for the rest of the night, but not before a spell of heavy sleet or snow.

I can see the visability reduced to my east hence the snow reports coming from there.

Could do with shower hitting us aswell, been a little bit too much of a thaw for my likening, still a covering but it starting to become more patchy on the roofs in particular.

Regarding tomorrow, appears to be a few differences regarding the timing of the trough, UKMO brings it earlier than the GFS. Hopefully the GFS is right which means it could potentially be an all snow trough and a sleet turning to snow one.

We have too see what the radar says however.

Anyways, snowing here now.

There hasn't been much of a thaw here, the roofs are mostly covered still. The main problem I've got is that 'Narnia' look with thick snow on every single leaf on the holly bush outside isn't as good as the snow has partially thawed / dropped off.

Has anyone looked at the latest BBC graphics for Tuesday? I don't like the low-res graphics normally, but this time it is definitely worth a peek :)

May even justify the 20cm advisory...

Great to see most areas reporting snow now.

It should freeze up quite quickly after the band of showers has passed,so anyone who gets a covering should keep it until morning.

I think the showers are pulling away into the North Sea. That is great for me as I want a dry, cold night! I wish you could get snow whilst I freeze but I don't think that's possible.

Looks like this is the last of the showers for Cleadon, but it's chucking it down with snow at the moment. Snow depth measurement at 9am tomorrow will be interesting but I suspect it will be less than the 12cm I had at 11am.

It was, but there has been an unexpected change I'm afraid. Expect another shower or two before it dries out. The colder it gets tonight the better, tomorrow's snow has more potential if it is cold enough than those showers ever had anyway

Aslong as i get a few more showers to give me a covering ill be okay with that and light snow now! biggrin.gif Moderate Snow now but its only making a slight impact on the ground so it needs to get a bit heavier and last a while
