Snow; Galtee Mountains, Southern Ireland.

Here are a few pictures ranging from around 250-650m up the Galtees. They reach around 920m so will try get up to that height this coming weekend. Was very windy and foggy. Lowest temperature I recorded up there was -3.3C and an air pressure of 911hPa.

Some of the pictures are of different quality as I only realised when at the top that I had my phone set to low quality!

Beginning of the climb, to cloudy to see far up.

Snow started to get deeper. Drifting to around 20", but generally around 6".

Some beautiful patterns on the frozen rocks. Everything covered in a thick layer of ice and snow.

Drifts now approaching nearly 4ft in places, snow cover generally over 1ft.

Snow widely over 20" deep by now.

Cold enough to freeze my eyebrows! Twas great, hopefully back up on Saturday, and maybe get a little bit higher too.

Yup. Last year there was snow through most of February and March. I imagine it's gonna take a lot to melt whats already up there now!
