I think theres just too many mountains to get over for the snow to get us here in Argyll CMD takes a strong easterly and a bit of luck, think our best shot is a north nw flow.

Hi LS,

Whoar's oor convection cc_confused.gif

Could be doin with a wee top up now, as the snow over the last couple of days hasn't came to very much whistling.gif and we are doon tae aboot oor last 5" or 6" of cover noo rofl.gif

It 's Looking like it's all heading over the Embra side o' the water, as I can see that the sky is richt Black over therenea.gif

Big Innes.

Big shower over towards Dundee at the moment as well. It looks like there are lots more showers tailing southwest towards us from that massive band hitting Inverness at the moment, so hopefully we'll see something later on. Temperatures are pretty low, though, at 0.5C, and as we saw last week, anything can happen with the cold air in place - I reckon we'll get another big dumping before the weekend's out.

LS

Some pics from my very slow, icy walk earlier. Normally the walk I did takes about 45 mins, today it took 2 hours!! Take a look at some of the pics of solid ice on the ground:

We've pretty much had light snow all day, with the exception of a 15 minute spell where it was heavy, it has not been enough to allow it settle on roads/pavements. But it has been settling on the snow that has already fallen, so the brown slush/snow has a nicer white look about it now.

I was also down by the river today. Totally frozen over now, and quite wierd sat there and all you could hear was the ice cracking.

I've got a couple of photos I'll post later

Dropped back to freezing point. Snow has been persistant and at times heavy. We have another 6 inchesof fresh snow since this morning.

Celebrations at Northern Meeting Park in Inverness have had to be cancelled due to heavy snow.

Just come from Inverness and A9 was blocked as was Drumossie Brae with cars abandoned and skidding on the hill. Got through only because we were in a landrover, condidtions now absolutely horrendous.

I love the snow but do hope people get home safely.

Solid ice? You better believe it! Out on delivery, it's a real probem. Last three days have been hell - numerous near misses - just one fall and it's broken bone time. Sheet ice is leathal! The only reason why I'd like this cold spell to halt - other than that it can snow again a few more inches and cover up all the ice :drinks:

Or is this wishful thinking wallbash.gifwallbash.gifwallbash.gif
