well things are starting to look up again on the snow front. after a couple of days of wet snow and rain. snow has slowly eroded it looks like we are preparing for round 2 I wouldn't worry too much about the met office warnings they have been as useful as a chocolate teapot so far :whistling:

Way hey!

That looks heavy and isn't far away. I hope that moves through here.

The chart I posted earlier was for 6am, so before that it's more or less ENE/NE - things may get a bit interesting tonight!

Odd, there are geese raking around for food in the garden - shouldn't they have left by now??

They come to Scotland from the Artic circle for the mild winters... sounds like they are getting desperate if they are in a garden. A few people have seen flocks flying south, probably going down to northern France or the Low Countries in the hope of better feeding.

Once you have a prolonged spell of cold weather like this you start to see all sorts of interesting wildlife behaviour.

That band moving south looks good for a sprinkling.

Indeed. Rather hoping it will lower the temperatures a bit. 2.8C here with a dew point of -0.4C which is reasonable enough for snow I'd still prefer a bit less marginality about it.

Gritters are out here so maybe we've got another batch of grit through!
