Hi GMG,

It sure is 1-0 to the NMM, i think it's a fantastic model on net weather-extra, extremely handy/usefull and packed full of features.

I knew earlier when comparing the NMM to the normal res 06z precip chart that the precipitation won't reach it this far.

Lewis

Yep, it performed exceptionally well during the last wintry

episode. It's a very useful tool indeed

Does net-weather sell weather stations in its store, i know they sell books. I don't think they do but perhaps its an idea they could look into. As quite a few members are always interested in weather stations.

I'll find out Mark

If I'm honest I don't really cares if it rains or snows, probably because the heating is on full and it's making me drowsy.....

Thanks :) I already have one but i know quite a few members are always asking. Would be good to have the net-weather store selling them for those members who may be interested in them.

ECM on the way out, will it be as good as the GFS in the short term. Hopfully it will be better in the long term unlike the GFS!

The PPN is just in Leeds, anyone in South Leeds got anything to report? Raintoday is showing sleet.

More central Leeds than south but can only just make out that something is falling by standing out side and feeling it fall on my face. Can't reallt make anything out on the lampost. Will update if anything changes but here on fairly low ground (wortley) I wouldn't be expecting anything more than a wintry mix unless the precip beefs up a bit.

Regards

Craig

Fantastic run from Nogaps drinks.gif

http://www.meteociel...apse_cartes.php

Certainly is! shame its not very reliable. ECM, GEM, GFS and UKMO are the main models for me so hopefully the ECM will come out with something good biggrin.gif The GME is also good as well (short term). Hopfully some snowshowers for all of us over the coming days biggrin.gif

Temp has risen by 0.1c, now 1.8c, been like that for last 40 minutes, dew points are still dropping, at 0.c now. Hardly encouraging but could be worse.

Something was falling outside of the sky a few mins ago, enough so that I could see it from the lamp post, am guessing hail.

Light Rain continuing Beeb and local forecast still embarrassing themselves about heavy snow. Must be confusing windchill with dew point. :D

Looks like precipitation has now reached the west of western Yorkshire, according to www.raintoday.co.uk it is all falling as snow and should be falling all over the region within the next hour.

I expect to see some snow reports coming from western parts of our region (Peak district, pennine areas). Still to mild for us on lower ground.

Yep, been snowing here for about an hour now. Temp. pretty static at the moment at 0.3C, with DP of -1.7C. Was briefly sleety to begin with but turned to snow pretty quickly. Not really heavy though. Maybe later ?

This front is taking the mick, its just not doing anything, the radar shows it just stuck over South Yorkshire and not budging, I'm very doubtfull that the front will get any further north which would make the GFS and the METO wrong.

Over at Golcar. Still sleet, but the flakes are more noticeable now.

Would be nice to have another covering, but unsure if it will happen.

Unfortunately, my weather station temp indicator got wet in the summer and is stuffed, so I can't track temps or DPs.

Very wet snow falling here.

Edit: Am very surprised how the band didn't move for an hour and has suddenly pushed quite quickly north.
