possible thuder shower's but I think you might be to far East.

Later as the rain become's heavier it should turn to snow according to Alex Deacon

I really hope your right but the temperature feels a little on warm side and i am starting to lose all hope in west country, not so bad for you on the ne outskirts of this county. unknw.gif

Temp 2.0c dew point -0.1c

Sleety Rain! Straw clutching i think my friend!

Just been on the Welsh forum, plenty of rain in south wales. Usually in these events we get rain here and south wales gets hit by loads of snow.

Lets just hope this system slows and stalls and the cold air digs in today.

Taken from the latest UKMET NAE (which Ian posts up occasionally), this is produced every 6 hrs and goes out to 48 hrs.

It shows the best chance of snow for some SW areas at approx 18.00 today, so don't get disheartened yet. !

Ian should also have acecss to the UKV which is produced every 3 hrs and is their highest res model. Unfortunately I don't  unless anyone has a link.

yeah, sleety. you can see it on the windscreen as i was driving. Melted quickly tho.

I cant see this turning to much fun unless these temps drop off soon. ( Although, wasnt it progged to be snow form midday onwards anyway ? )

The front looks like it is already stalling and starting to rotate round slightly. Going to be along time to get that heavy ppn over us! unknw.gif

I wonder how it will continue to behave today because this is when surprises often pop up.

Confidence: 80%

Alert for Snow-Icy roads-possible blizzards issued Tuesday 29 December 2009 This is an amendment and update to the Alert issued on Monday As the low south west of the UK pushes its moist and mild air north so the rain is going to turn to snow as it moves north. Areas most at risk of snow during Tuesday are roughly from the M4 northwards, to include much of central and eastern Wales, Herefordshire, Buckinghamshire, the Salisbury Plain area, along with the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, taking in the cities of Bath and Bristol and possibly Gloucester. Areas to the north west of London could also get a spell of snow. Other areas to be affected later in the day will be parts of the Midlands, especially the west and by evening into parts...

Currently light rain here.

Temp dropping rapidly, it has gone down 0.4C in about 10 mins. Must be the colder air coming in behind the warm front (at least I think it's a warm front).

We were always going to have rain to start off with. I think the heavier precipitation down south will be the main event later. Just hoping it will turn to snow soon  3.4C

To be honest for my location hardly any rain. The roads are just damp with no puddles.

The first bank has seemed to push through now and the second looks like its breaking up a bit.

It all might just come to nothing.

OH, and did any of you see the local news about Gloucester preparing for severve snowy weather! It was so funny and probably put a curse on this weeks snow potential!
