Still seems cold and agitated here - I expect rain any minute - but I suspect anyone Gloucester North gonna get a pasting especially with any height.

outh West England:

Gloucestershire

Heavy Snow 0900 Tue 29 1800 Tue 29

Outbreaks of rain will turn to sleet and snow and become heavy at times, particularly over high ground, with accumulations of 5 to 10 cm, locally 15 cm on hills. Strong winds will also cause some drifting of the snow.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice regarding traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads.

Yep, turning to snow, exactly as forecasted over the cotswolds and south gloucestershire, North gloucestershire should follow in hte next hr or so.

I have to admit this is some very good forecasting by the METO/BBC.

morning guys

after a bit of advice, I'm just about to leave Frome (15m south of Bath) where it's raining quite heavily and travel into Bristol (seen some reports of rain turning to sleet in Bristol) - does anyone have any info if this sleet/rain in Bristol will turn to snow??

Sorry for the question but don't really want to be heading into a driving nightmare, also need to travel back from Bristol to Frome late afternoon

Any advice?

Thanks again

Andy

my friend is driving to cannock staffs, on his day back to work today but he also had the choice of going to portsmouth, i said go to portsmouth as there is more chance that you will get back home to cheltenham, although he thought different, so i hope he made the correct decision, but then if he went to portsmouth he would of blamed me either way, so thought let the old fool make up his own mind. i know i will be at home keeping warm watching the snow fall.

It hasn't really really reached Chelt yet, still 20 or so miles away(at least the heavier, more well mixed stuff), a 15 Mile radius around Chippenham looks interesting and maybe as far north as Dursley and west Bristol.

South wales in the brecons would be fantastic today.
