Welcome to part 4 of the North West Cold Spell (and associated snow or lack of it) Discussion Thread.

Let's keep it light, polite, positive and informative. :(

Currently 4.2c here right on the coast near Liverpool after heavy rain earlier this evening.

Further North here, 1.5C and falling, Partly cloudy, dry for the past 45 minutes or so. The colder air behind the front beginning to show as the Warm sector clears.

Temperature back on the way up here, largely due to fairy gusty winds

Moderate sleet/very wet snow falling here.

It's gonna be lethal when it freezes later.

Annoying? Yup! Not as annoying as it'll no doubt be later on when this lot reaches the sodding south east and gives them more snow!!!!:drinks:

I would say so! especially over the snowfields, if the winds stay light I'm looking forward to seeing how cold it is tomorrow morning!

Keeps alternating between wet snow and sleet here.

Temperature has dropped back down to 1.3C, seems to be dropping away slowly now, seems to be settling on the grass.

Meh...maybe I'm just easily pleased, but I'm happy with the 2 inches I've got! plus it was great seeing such heavy snow with large flakes.

Driving back from the Cat&Fiddle pub back to Sale was a mixed bag journey. Strong, fridig winds up there when we left at 6ishs after a walk in the frozen tundra of the moors, it started swowing. By the time we got to Whalley Bridge, it turned into rain. 30min later, after a visit to the chippy and supermarket, on the way towards Stockport, it started snowing heavily, huge flakes. Stockport was turning into a winter wonderland, M60 treacherous then when approaching Sale, wet mush and cold rain...

Temperatures starting to drop fast now, 2.6C and falling.

I reckon itll go down to -1C here tonight, although the problem comes about then this rainwater freezes on the sensor thus giving readings that are wildly too low.
