Here in Hale, Liverpool. Still not seen a snow shower at all this evening. The strange thing is the temp has once again gone slightly up 1.3C dew point rising slightly to -4C from earlier lower temp. Not sure exactly what is going on. Ocassional scattered clouds some looked potentially threatening but nothing at all. Although it is a lot more cloudier now than it was earlier this evening.

It really is quite amazing how everywhere but this neck of the wood (say 10/15 miles warrington and 10 miles Liverpool) caught some moderate to heavy showers. The even stranger thing is that Runcorn caught a shower or two.

I think it's just been chance, and dependent on how close to the Pennines and which showers haven't fizzled out!

My dewpoint is plummeting, currently -5.1! As a result there's no frost, but if the dewpoint continues to fall, so will the temperature. As it stands though I should get around -3.2C by 9am tomorrow, and an ice day!

Pretty nasty little shower here, snow is blowing around like something I've never seen at the moment, and it's piling up pretty well...

I think this is why the showers don't make it across the Pennines anymore! It's just too cold and dry so they lose their moisture before they get here.

Yep, although the cloud appears to be feeding into even areas of Liverpool and eatern Wirral from time to time. The lower temperature here and at Crosby (both -1.8C, actually make that -1.9C now), is probably due to this.

Snow flurries in Liverpool leading up to midnight! They've stopped now though.

Quite bizarre given how crystal clear the skies were - I did the lamp post thing and couldn't believe my eyes. biggrin.gif

Was also snowing at Manchester Airport when I landed around 11pm.

Morning all. So glad some of us North Westeners are seeing some snow. We've a hard frost this morning, no snow yet. Just checked the beeb weather charts and the depressing thing is that it says us here in Nantwich Cheshire will have heavy rain tomorrow lol!! Fingers crossed that changes.

Have a lovely Friday

Meto seem sure it will rain here tomorrow looking at the latest forecast, GFS having none of it still forecasting snow. Who will be right ?

A further light dusting overnight, nothing too significant though.

Looks like Meto could be right then :( There is certainly warmer air associated with the front passing through, but it does get cold again very quickly.

And a bloody good morning to you all  Yes Rochdale has a festive feel to it with more snow overnight - not much - we are in the region of about 2cm but that is better than nothing. Roll on the next few days :(:yahoo:
