i think it's sleety here in Stoke Gifford.

I just looked at the metoffice radar and there's a hell of a lot of precipitation about to hit our area. I should've bought the netweather radar subscription the other week.wallbash.gif

dont worry Westerner's one fact is assured when the South or West come's up against a Low we get well and truly dumped..

Look over the years how much heavy snowfall as happened when warm LOWS have hit stagnant cold air..

Our time will come :D

rest assured

i sure hope so this would be my first major snow event in england ive never seen more than a few cms of snow since i moved to the UK in 1999........

b4 that i lived on St.Helena there was no snow there EVER p.s im only 19 aswell :D

Febuary was my first taste of proper snow best ive seen

Please inform us when it starts because i am scared i might just miss it while eating breakfast or somthing like that.crazy.gif

Sorry i shouldnt be so down your right we should at least wait for the pub run to cheer us all up. :D

:D Ill try, but it may have passed you by the time it reaches me :D

Anyway In a way I wish I was where you are as you've certainly got the most chance of being cold enough at 290m!

Id like there to be a bit more snow shown, however I think there will be a bit around in places and the GFS does show showers over the weekend, and it usually underestimates precip in showery situations. Anyway I guess the only way is to wait and see and I wouldnt mind some nice cold frosty weather anyway

We can hope! :D

I'll have to rely on people with the right radar for that but seeing as it's now 1.6C and is steadily dropping every ten minutes or so by 0.1-2C it ruddy well should be snowing later on. Here's hoping. smile.gif

I can't do this too often or i might get told off but here it is - ph34r.gif

Hi Noggin,

Yep here in Sleety Winterbourne smile.gif Could get some precipatitive drag bringing the colder air down although the temp doesn't seem to be going down much. I use the filton weather station temps but they seem a tad high at the moment at 4.4 and 3.9DP

Best years for that though Dogs were many many years ago, like 79, 81, etc. And the difference then was that we had below freezing temps before, during and after snowfall (Not like last Feb, for example). I was hoping this cold spell was going to deliver colder temps to be fair, to give us a better chance if LPs approach from the SW.

Yep here in Sleety Winterbourne

Sleety in Winterbourne and Stoke Gifford and Filton, then.

Cold rain here in Downend.

I tried to see some flakes in with the rain, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't see any! :)

I have given up hope now...........
