A mild rather cloudy day with some sunny intervals. Light to moderate south to SW breeze, but a bit of a blow in the heavy rain earlier.

A little rain/ drizzle early this evening, then from 1945- 2045, spells of heavy to very heavy rain, marking the likely ending of the very prolonged and quite exceptional wet and unsettled spell (almost 440mm rain here in the past 6 weeks!). Drove through some hail mixed in with the downpour a mile from home.

A beast of a shower here in Telford, i thought they were going to be further north?

Been torrenting it down with rain for the past 10 minutes, the road is a fast flowing stream.

Heavy rain in the past couple of hours which has now eased off substantially, looks like it will be the last burst of heavy rain for a while - all good news for the Lake District we need this dry spell coming up.
