New - Flash Alerts System

We've just put the beta version of our brand new flash alerts system live - it is a totally automated system to give flash weather warnings of severe weather as it happens, with updates every 5 minutes..

As part of this system you will see that there is a new flash alert status display on the homepage and you can click through from there to the new flash alerts maps here:

It is still a beta system so we've work to do in ironing out any kinks and improving the display etc, so please let us know if you have any feedback, thoughts or bug reports..

the snow maps don't seem to be loading?

temporarily disabled - too many reports tends to crash browsers - will get it working within the week hopefully

thanks karl. i did notice it was crashing my browser before hand.

any news on this? would be good to see it working properly.
