A toasty 8.2oC

....and a portent of a depressingly mild winter to come

DELETED POST (Sorry, something odd going on with my browser: 8.2 figure above was chopped off at the bottom...tried to repost but it was even worse, so I've deleted it....and now the original one looks fine. Weird.)

My inclination is for a mild and wet month to come with little frost and snow. I'm going to go for:

8.2C

4.9c and we'll all be saying "why couldn't we get this northerly blocking in January" and such like.

Bold call.....there's been no November remotely in that ballpark for 16 years.

But then there's no such thing as a 'modern' winter, of course, I forgot: it's just synoptical accident. In which case - yup, why not? It would certainly make me happier than my 8.2 guess. :whistling:

Mildest november by along way was 1994 at 10.1c followed by 1938 at 9.4c

I would liked to of seen a november like 1915 at just 2.8c

Last november 7.0c was pretty uneventful besides for the very cold end(coldest since 1993),snow was pretty limited.

I am not anybody on TWO, if that helps. My UK weather forum needs are fully met by Net-weather and my smaller forecasting site at Weatherchat. I even have a mystery appearance on the Irish weather forum where at least my name is more accurate than most of my forecasts. Then there are the American, Canadian, Australian, Bangladeshi and Jovian weather forums, how do I find the time?

I guess I should have played along and said that the downgrade was a vision I had about the eventual "month-end adjustment" or whatever. Last time I adjusted a forecast down by 0.4, sort of wished I hadn't.
