Lowest Temperature This Winter?

I think for England, Shap could go down to -16/-17°C this winter

I am going to go for -18 probably in Shap Late January

For my location i will go for -7cwhistling.gif

In one of the Highland locations such as Tulloch Bridge, Altnaharra and Braemar, is where the lowest temperature will be. in one of these, -20.2C

For my location, i am going to say -8C

A fairly safe bet would be a figure of about -14 degrees at least in Altnaharra or Braemar or Aviemore or Aboyne probably sometime in February. Only needs an injection of polar air and clear skies for temperatures to tumble in these parts of the country.. even in a mild winter such conditions will likely occur at some stage.

However my prediction is -18 degrees Aviemore mid february.

A cold arctic maritime airstream with a bit of snow cover and clear skies will often produce below -20 degrees temps in highland scotland think back to early March 2001.
