A fine day with sunny spells and patches of Altocumulus, Stratocumulus and fair weather Cumulus. The max was 11.9c with a fresh NNE breeze through the afternoon.

Clear evening, 8.9c.

its the second coldest place in the UK here right now, not sure what implications any clearing cloud will have for the rest of the country, but I don't think the cloud will clear! 5.0C now should be 4.0C in an hour

I think it is thinning out now actually...

Still cloudy here but there are a few breaks ib it now. temp has started to fall slightly again 6.6c although its not going far.

I shall not hand in the towel just yet.

The cloud has finally cleared here Stephen! Temperature has gone from 10.3c to 9.6c in UNDER 10 mins! The race is on Stephen! I want to win!

You probably will, its stalled at 4.7C here (although it might drop further still).

Bebington is at 6.6C and dropping fast so you will probably plummet now!

I don't think we'll get an airfrost here tonight but I think we will go to to about 2-3C, it's still falling fairly fast, now 4.4C. There is cloud moving east it will be here in about an hour. Plenty of time for the temperatures to fall to 3C maybe lower.

I'm pretty sure you wont fall below here tonight either, or anywhere else locally, for that matter

If its high cloud, then the temp would not be affected much and if anything, the temp can sometimes still drop.

If skies stay clear here, then i might see my first Ground frost, temps are around 4C here according to XC weather so it should drop by another degree or two by morning if all goes to plan.

I would of thought the radiation from the clouds, along with them blocking the heat from the ground to go into space would make the temperature rise somewhat, unless they were very thin clouds which heat can pass through.

Been stuck at 7.8c here for a good 20 mins. No cloud out

Just checked outside and it's fairly clear here, abeit with a veil of thin high cloud but thin enough to see stars. The temp is reflecting this and falling steadily, down to 5.7°C. No hope of an air frost here though, especially with that cloud out west heading in.
