We've rolled out stage one of the new design onto the free part of the site this afternoon, Netweather Extra and the Messagecentre will be next and we'll also be going through all the pages tweaking things and bug fixing over the coming days.

It's taken a lot of work, so hopefully you'll all like it!!

first glance... what a difference!!! looks fairly modern.. I like all those curvy boxes that you click on!!! can't help noticing that the ADVERTS are taking up the middle of the slides.. ah well someone needs to pay for this!!

well done Netweather

Thanks folks, all the feedback you give is appreciated - this is very much a first fix, we know there are some bugs so we'll be working hard to fix them and to tidy up things. We'll also be acting on feedback as we go forward in terms of the introduction of new features and tweaks to the design etc..

Great looking "new-look" site, my only issue would be the "get ripped in 2 weeks" ads that come up, if I see anymore of these I swear i'll puke.

What a difference! This really looks good - much brighter and neater.

The change is welcome - my only comment is that there could be a bit more continuity between the main site and the forum..

I think visually the upgrade looks great. I would say though that I miss the headline grabber and main story - is this going to return? Without this it looks like something is missing!

Thanks again for all the feedback :)

@Chino, the headline stories will be summarised on to the page (in the slot where it's saying all new at the moment), with a link through to the full article. The new news system will also enable us to put extra articles and forecasts online alongside the daily update as well.

@James, we'll be making changes to the default forum skin to match it up to the remainder of the site a bit more.
