9th consecutive bone dry day on the trot here- not bad going for one of the westtest parts of the country, tomorrow looks like it will make it 10, but Saturday looks like breaking the cycle with some light rain/drizzle overnight will wait and see.

After a chilly night (good old Shap Fell not that far from here as already recorded its first air frost of the season..), the day dawned cloudy and the cloud remained a stubborn beast indeed making for a rather dreary day and cool feel, the air feels very dry at present.

Tonight is much cloudier than last night so not expecting temperatures to drop as low. Hopefully we will see a bit more sun tomorrow but I'm not holding much promise, winds are very light and coming from the east/south east which is not a good direction for dispersal of cloud, if anything further cloud can easily penetrate into eastern/south eastern cumbria from the Pennines on a south easterly/easterly and make for rather cool cloudy weather - if this was winter it would be jolly cold indeed in this part of the country under such synoptics as now, with freezing fog going nowhere...
