Pressure just started to rise. Still dreadful out there though, heavy rain lashing down and booming on the roof. Not fit to go outside at present, you'd scarcely be able to stand up in this wild gusty wind.

Looks like your area has got the worst of the rain/wind combination at present. Winds were very light overnight here but beginning to pick now and temps to fall.

A thoroughly miserable autumn morning with strong, cold winds (NWly) frequent showers and very low light levels.

14c currently which is the overnight low as temps keep on falling.

One of those mornings you wish you could stay in a warm bed...

Very wet here today with wind from the north off the Firth so we are getting no protection from the hills to the south as we normally do so expecting high rainfall totals today. Curently 11c.

Our high was 13C and then we had the southerly change. Hail showers in some places and snow to something like 600m. Still had plenty of sunshine here today though.

Collected 40.9mm from the gauge at 10 BST. To judge from the Dines autograohic chart, about 25mm of that came between 5 and 8 am as the clearance came through.

Wind has died down a bit, though still strong. Now westerly. Only the odd light shower at present, though still overcast. Pressure rising. Temp 12.0C.

Feel sorry for those to the NE of us and in Scotland, who will have this awful weather lingering according to the forecasts.

This is more like it!

A wet and windy night with some periods of heavy rain during yesterday evening and again during the early hours of this morning. The main rain area cleared to the north by 0930 g.m.t and since then it's been windy with frequent short light-moderate showers.

26.5 mm of rain in the 24 hours up to 0900 this morning and perhaps another couple since then.

At 0900 the mean wind speed was 33 mph, gusting to 55

Temp' is 11.1c at the moment. The overnight min' was 10.2c.
