well ppl US 0pen starts on monday (a tournament with the same importance as wimbledon) federer seeded 1 and murray 2

Id say 1 of only 6 players will win mens my opinion

favourite federer

2nd favourite roddick

3rd favourite murray

4th favourite djokovic

5th favourite del potro

6th favourite nadal

womens of course only 1 of 2 winners possible williams williams

4pm from monday 31st should be great, remember same as wimbledon

Fed is firm favourite. Not sure about Roddick as second though as he has struggled on the hard courts recently. It's wide open if Fed goes out.

Not sure about a Williams this time either.

Don't you mean English Robson, British Baltacha and English O'Brien?

I'd be surprised if British Murray didn't reach the final.

I've gone for British (at least until the semi-final, I hope?) Murray... :80:

good win for federer, gotta question the US open scheduling for putting murray on tomorrow morning, only 1st round i know but unfair on British viewers

Murray will begin his campaign soon in a night match. Gulbis ranked 95th in ATP rankings and a straight set victory at wimbledon should ensure an easy passage to the 2nd round

2nd set - Murray

Murray 7-5 6-3 Gulbis

straight sets win easing into 2nd round

Much the same as Wimbledon then?! Fact is, in most instances the main consideration is with the viewing audience in the host country, and in truth why shouldn't it be? Andy Murray is number 2 in the world, so was on the prime time evening slot, bit of a pain if you want to watch him in the UK but unfortunately that's the way it is imo.

A good steady start for Murray. Even better with Karlovic and Wawrinka falling at the first hurdle. :pardon:

he has not made a good start tonight. 1st set to Cilic and broken in the second set

Murray 5-7 1-4* Cilic

* denotes next to serve

Oh dear  two sets down now

Murray *5-7 2-6 0-0 Cilic

this is not good for Andy. Cilic has already broken him in the first game of the 3rd set

murray, too weak and passive again, similar to wimbledon, i just dont think he is number 2, all the others have more of an all round game

Im picking a federer/Del potro final

Tennis is played for nearly 50 weeks a year, and not just the grand slams. The ranking system already favours the slams, but to be number 2 in the world, believe me, he's earned it.

new york's weather is pants at the moment, monday final, 2 interesting semis coming up, Federer v Djokovic, and Nadal v Del potro, at least nadal is now where he belongs at number 2, 0f course the only reason he dropped to 3 was because of injury

Another grand slam coming up for federer later today.Del potro is playing great but he won't beat federer IMO.
