Just woke up to the odd flake blowing around in the wind here.. I would be described as NE Midlands so kind of surprised to see more than a wintry mix.

Not much showing on the radar but perhaps might see an hours fall before sunrise as the band moves across into the Midlands.

Light snow falling but not settling.

Edit; snowing quite heavily now and everywhere is white.

Overnight rain turned into heavy snow in stoke around 7ish, lasting around half an hour to 45 minutes, left a temporary covering on grass and cars.

We ended up with 1.5cm by 0900, it's all thawed now but the higher hills further north in the Peak are still white.

Shower of sleet around 1215.

No snow here this am but the lower part of Cheviot was glistening white with the stuff at noon today-there must have been quite a fall in the higher reaches.

Snowing at Stratos Moorside at about 01:00, rather wet and melting readily on contact. Cover of snow above about 1500' this morning, but of the variety that has had a dousing with rain and is now melting.
