A picture of a hunting wolf has won the prestigious Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 award.

Jose Luis Rodriguez captured the imaginations of the judges with a picture that he had planned for years, and even sketched out on a piece of paper. "I wanted to capture a photo in which you would see a wolf in an act of hunting - or predation - but without blood," he told BBC News. "I didn't want a cruel image."

Excellent photographs - I particularly like the Dunnock, which are a sadly overlooked bird but which are surprisingly pretty when you get a good look at them.

and a few weeks older :)

he had a very bad start to life with us. apparently the breeders were a bit careless with hygine and he picked a sever tummy bug up. severe enough to nearly kill him :D fortunately some fast action from us and the vet managed to keep him going.

he was 3 kilos when we got him, now 6.1 :)

Thought I'd share a couple of pics of the horses that we've taken on recently

The first chappy is an Irish sports horse, called Wychwood. He came to us because he'd been starved by his

previous owner, so he just needs some nice food in his belly during the winter. As you can see, he's a big

lad at 18hh. It's my little boy who is sat on him

The next one is a pony called Eva - She's a 14hh Welsh x Arab.

Eva came from a local riding school, and she just needed a good home

Went for a walk along the Cuckmere valley towards The Seven Sisters this afternoon and found this little fella sunning himself:

Sorry about the rubbish quality, longest zoom on a Nokia phone cam! Haven't seen seals this far up in Sussex before.
